Game Description
We have always been prey. The light that gave everything life was uncovering us. Making us visible. Just like... a delicious treat on a shiny plate. Only a few generations later someone came who dared to cut off our clan from the violent world so that everyone could live in peace. Our elder came to the beast's maw without any fear and made it swallow the sun. But that didn't free us from the predators right? We locked ourselves in bottomless labyrinths, filled with darkness and famine. I don't want a future like that. Do you have what it takes to defeat the elder and return the stolen sun? Controls: A and D to move (Left/Right) E to interact and skip dialogue Spacebar to jump Left-click to attack!
How does your game tie into the theme?
The game is about a ritual to return the stolen sun.

It looked amazing! I could hardly believe it was for a jam!
Sadly, it was too intensive on my computer, and I couldn't do it with the lag. But that reflects on my slow computer, not the game.

Unbelievable graphics! This needs to be taken forward and polished as a proper standalone game. It's got huge potential
Some kinks to iron out:
1. Unskippable cutscenes
2. Dialog too small to read on laptop sized screens
3. Lack of sound effects for enemies
4. Kill the mouse, I'm not a big fan of having to use both keyboard and mouse for platformers
But overall this is an amazing effort! Please do finish it off!
Thanks to everyone who played our game!
We as the developers of stolen sun would like to come forward and confirm an update which is currently in development, fixing the game's issues and staying truthful to the vision we had that unfortunately couldn't be completed due to time constraints. Stay tuned, and I hope that you're willing to give this update try!
The graphics and the story for that entry are amazing! The music is fire too though I don't think it fits the calm vibe of the scenes.
I was lacking the feedback of the wolf SFX and the movement was too slow for the speed of the animation.
Waiting for more games!
the art and visual design are breath-taking, and it goes for the music too! hard to believe it was made in such short notice! the text was far too small and I found myself leaning in towards the screen to read it, which is a shame because it looks interesting!
the gameplay needs some polish, the movement is too slow and doesn't feel great to control, and I fell through gaps in the world I couldn't see. the wolves also kept spawning on top of me mid-air.
but wow. talk about potential. I can really see this being great given some real time to develop.
great work to the team.
The character and world art is very pretty, and the UI design is stylish and fits well. Very good visual design, all around. Looks very inspired by another game title (or two), but that's okay.
The platforming gameplay is a nice start, though ambitious to get right in the span of a game jam. In addition to the controls feeling sluggish, I kept finding lots of places to fall off the world in the zone with the first wolves. Eventually stopped there after dying a couple of times in that area.
Great work to the whole team. It's impressive to see so much collaboration on a project!
In some areas, like the artstyle the animations and most of the Music/Sounds you created a very polished game. But on other parts, like the movement it lacks a litle bit. The jump feels way to poweful and has no real animation and your movement is a litle bit to slow for me.
If you change these things i think you could also even publish your game to steam.
But overall for a game jam game it's really well made.
Keep up the great work guys
The game certainly looks incredible. The background and character art is great and the UI design is splendid. Text is pretty small, and hard to parse unless you've got a big screen.
The platforming controls could use some work - pressing two inputs seems to have some interference while jumping/double jumping. The enemy AI needs some work, and I even encountered a bug in the boss fight - if you die immediately to the first wolf that appears, they will despawn when you respawn, allowing you to just stand under the boss, while wolves literally stack up behind it. Also sound effects did not proc for me at all - I noticed someone was credited with making sound effects, but there don't seem to be any in the game.
Hope your team works together more in the future. With a bit of polish, this could be a great little platformer!
