Game Description
Defeat the aliens by stopping their waves (arrows). You can miss up to 10 times before you lose. To win, you have to block 200-300 waves.
How does your game tie into the theme?
Unfortunately due to this being our first game jam (and game) we didn't get to the theme. The arrows were to be waves sent by the aliens that the player had to pick the opposite wave (i.e. symmetric wave) to counter.

congratulations on making and submitting your first game! :D hope to see you around in future jams!
For a first time game development with a group of people this is a good submission. My first jam with a group the game broke hours before submission!
I couldn't tell what my button presses were doing. There was no feedback visually or with audio or something else to tell me if the timing was right. Maybe just showing a ghost of the button press where the timing is supposed to be right would help a lot to communicate to the player what is going on.
Keep going!
Well done for your first gamejam! The art looks nice so I'm guessing you've done that before.
Like others have said if the arrows disappeared when you push the button, and closer to the line it would be more intuitive (at least for me) for the player.
it's great to see new people making games! Maybe this game would be more interesting if you synced the arrows to the music and made it a rhythm game?
That was our goal but we didn't know how to do that. We did later find a midi asset/reader that would have been super helpful but not sure that was allowed within the scope of the jam. Our goal was a rhythm game, for sure!
Good game. Is easy enough to find during the game, but it would be nice see the area where the arrow should be press.
Hey there! Pretty impressive if you started from scratch and learnd everything as you went ;)
My main advice is that when the arrows hit the line they immeditely dissapear. I think it would be better if there would be a a 1-10 pixel threshold area exactly in the middle of the arrows (not the start). just more forgiving and intuitive for the player.
