The controls were a bit wonky, but the rest was good, and the sound design was awesome :D Great!

I really enjoyed the sense of humor with this one with special mention to the music :) Also, it was very satisfying to attack slimes with bees. I usually can't play platformers with KB but I managed to do pretty good with this one (my controller was on the fritz). Nice entry!
Thanks so much for playing! Sounds like you had as much fun playing as we did making it. Definitely didn't try take ourselves too serious with this entry, good that came across ;p
That's really awesome to hear! I spent a good while trying to get a good feel for the platformer, definitely some kinks to iron out still, but glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the feedback!
This is a really fun game. Love the bee projectiles and the adorable graphic in pastel color scheme! The original sound effects really stand out. One of my kiddo yank the controller out of my hand in mid game, so he beat the boss instead of me. lol.
It was a lot of fun watching my kid go at it actually! He was jumping on top of the beetle like a pro by the end and doing moves I wasn't probably capable. Controller did fine. I had trouble jumping on top of the beetle myself, because I keeping expecting to be able to move in mid-air like some other people has mentioned in other comments. But that would be the same with keyboard, so not really specific to controllers.
Thanks for letting me experience this game, it was truly special. I think the sfx you added are the real identity of the game, it really makes it special and a worthy memory. I'm already memeing "Gnomore!" with a friend of mine. Really clever way of combining the wildcards too.
Hey!
That's awesome to hear. We wanted to keep it fun and light, so nice to see those were enjoyable parts to play with.
Definitely hear you on the jumping and movement, we've got that a couple of times so far, so it's a point that I'd like to refine and make sure is inline with what people expect more when they head into a platformer.
Thanks so much for the feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Hello!
I stream at https://twitch.tv/velopman. I'll be posting it in the discord today too. Hope to see you there :)
Interesting idea.
Bit game from first attempt. Controls were easy to use. Wish there could be some inertia after jump to make it a bit harder to jump from platform to platform.
Wish there would be some simple looped music track and real sound effects for jumping, attacks, killer bee boss.
Voice Over could be processed through the 8 bit distortion to make game more authentic and less recognizable voices, i.e. more 8 bit sound.
Not a bad game, but more time spend on sound and music would've make it better for sure.
I hope you enjoyed it :)
Awesome feedback on the audio! Thank you! This was our first attempt at doing audio ourselves and we definitely went for a more silly vibe. We would have never thought about adding the distortion, so this is great to think about for our future games!
For the controls, we'd debated that point quite a bit, with no real resolution. It's great to hear some outside feedback to help influence any future development on this project!
Thanks for playing the game!
All the voice-overs and intro are quite amazing :). Game felt very polished and was fun to play. Also think it was a creative spin on the theme. One thing I noticed was that you had to move horizontally BEFORE jumping in order to jump forward. Might feel more natural if you can change directions in mid-air.
Overall, great job!
