Welcome to the first game jam for the GMTK Patreon and Discord community!

This is a chill community jam. So while there is a theme, a deadline, and a few rules, your game will not be rated or ranked.

The jam takes place over the course of a week, but feel free to use as much or as little time as you like. Can you only spare a weekend? Then make a game in 48 hours! Got a job? Make your game in the evenings after work.

The Theme

The theme for 2024 is "Bending the rules". Approach it in whatever way you like... or ignore it entirely!

Rules

• You may work with people who are not members of the GMTK Patreon, as long as at least one team member is a supporter.
• You can use whatever code, art, music, etc you have the legal right to use. But do not use generative AI to create art or music assets for this jam.
• You can use code and assets made before the jam begins, but the spirit of the jam is that the majority of the game should be made during the week of the jam.
• Please avoid gratuitous violence, NSFW content, and excessive swearing in your game. Let's keep it accessible for everyone!
