How does your submission match the theme?
The bullets damage enemies and crates. The crates give you hearts that increase you score and health. Enemies attack you and provide you with hearts. Platforms give you a vantage point against ground enemies and cover from flying ones. score gives you a since of accomplishment as well as boost your damage. The menu is playable, meaning it 1 is a main menu but also gives you a safe place to test the controls.

Really fun game, though there are a few kinks... I like the idea that your score dictates your damage, although the feedback could be better~ Numbers are nice, but seeing an actual health bar melting per shot has a stronger effect of telling the player that they're getting stronger! Everything moves really fast, and bullets and enemies are almost impossible to avoid, but that's alleviated by the fact that they always drop health pickups and don't do too much damage... which is a strange way to balance the game, but it works out in the end! With a bit of tweaking, this game has a lot of promise!
