Please do not create fake accounts/ratings to boost your own game (or tell your friends to). Because of our rating queue requirement it means that if you create a new account to try to boost your own game you create a bunch of fake ratings that negatively impact other participants. If we see future issues with your account you may be permanently banned from jams.

Thanks

Oh sorry when we finished our game we've sent it to friends and family (some of which probably created their first account in itch.io), we didn't know that sharing the game with loved ones was forbidden we'll be sure to share after the jam ends in the future.

I really liked art style,  gameplay was a lot of fun. Great job, and I hope to see the full release soon!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! We're not sure if we'll make a full release but hearing your input really makes us happy

thank youu

Nice use of puns in all of the levels! Good job.

Developer(+2)

I'm so glad to hear that, my teammates tried to play the importance of puns DOWN but I never gave UP and added a pun to every level start, win and lose screen.

Great job, especially in such a short timeframe! The concept is strong and the wordplay is fun

Developer(+1)

Thank youuu! We just wanted to make a game that you can't put DOWN!

The game's premise immediately made me want to see how those ideas were reflected in the mechanics, and it delivered. Everything feels well thought out, from the tactical gameplay to the presentation.

Overall, this is a very creative project and an excellent piece of work. Congratulations on making such a fun and memorable game. I really enjoyed playing it, and I wish you the best in the jam!

Developer(+1)

I think I'm about to cry thanks to your nice words. Thank you so much! It makes us very happy that people were able to enjoy our game  <3 . We'll try to level UP in the future and make even more ambitious games/puns.

Hope you get a chance to play my game too!

I loved it!

Did you ever play that holiday present game as a kid where you'd pass the parcel left or right based on a little story that was told by someone at the party? "Mrs. RIGHT LEFT her home and turned LEFT RIGHT away..." - the tutorial and dialogue definitely gave me that feel. I really liked that, though, it's a fun way to interact with the theme.

Hex based strategy though, gimme! I loved all the different interactions and mechanics, and honestly could see this developed as a larger game. I'd be DOWN to play that! The later levels did get a bit tricky, and on the first level it took me a bit to realize what I was meant to do - so maybe a bit of an arrow pointing to the element you need to drag UP, or a hand drawing attention to it may help. I kept trying to drag on the arrow soldiers themselves, but realized that was not what I was supposed to do.

You've realled UPped my mood with your comment! I'm writing DOWN the tips to make the game better. Thank you so much for playing our game!

i think you did a great job in the short timeframe! I thik the concept is strong, setting up a solution and watching it succed or fail. I think, if you keep working on the game, a way to make failing more fun would be great! and as others already pointed out, the tutorial could benefit from some tweaks. the wordplay was funny and i think it is something like a unique selling point, but it distracted partly from the tutorial, maybe a bit less is more :D

but overall well done!

Thank you so much for the feedback! We'll be sure to incorporate it if we decide to make it into something bigger!

This was a fun and great puzzle game! and the FF features are really good for just testing stuff out.
And Count Down couldve been less purple but his lines make up for it

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm glad you've used UP our time features! They took some time to make :)

Very strong puzzle game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! It was made with love :)

Perhaps a tutorial of some kind could help the game and reduce the need for interactions

This was our first game jam and we've realized our mistake. Many people had issues with the ui and how to play.  Writing tutorial dialogue text that explains the mechanics or a gif that shows how to play wasn't sufficient. Thanks to your and other's feedback we'll be sure to turn this  mistake into a learning opportunity! Thank you for taking the time to give feedback!

Thank you for your feedback! This game jam has been a great learning opportunity and we'll work to improve our ui mistakes.

You did a great job in such a short time. Congrats!

Thank you!

Great tactical game design, artwork with character, endless puns! Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! We're glad we've been able to take UP your time with a fun game (i hope im not running out of puns)!

Really strong puzzle game, there's some very well designed levels and mechanics in here that really tested me. I had to work UP to some of the more difficult ones, but I wasn't let DOWN by my time with the game! (Really loved the writing, Count Down is a wonderful character)

Developer(+1)

This review is lifting me UP! I'm glad that the difficulty didn't wear you DOWN! Thank you for playing :)

Really nice game! The mechanics are cool and the levels are pretty well designed.

A small UX critique: drag and dropping tokens for the sequence and having the play button at the top left wasn't very intuitive, I actually thought it was a music option at first, haha! Also, it would be great if items stayed in place when you retry a level, rather than having to set everything up again after a failure.
Still, really fun game!

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for playing our game! It was a great learning experience for us as well, most people had similar feedback about the unintuitive ui design. It was mostly a secondary concern which now we regret. If we decide to continue on developing we'll be sure to take in all the feedback into mind while making a ui overhaul. Thank you for taking the time to give feedback!

The game plays pretty well, it's fun but it can get really hard (might be a skill issue).

Well done on the game !

Developer(+2)

Oh no don't give UP! We're glad we've been able to challenge you!

Submitted(+4)

Interesting game! Seems like you guys combined a lot of different ideas into one game for such a short time frame!

One minor bug I noticed was that it seemed that you had the enter key set up to advance dialog, but if there was no more dialog following, then enter did not work (left click had to be used). Maybe this was related to the dialogue box not being focused?

Overall, good job!

Developer(+2)

Oh NO! I wish I could do bugfixes. It was intended as left click but I think old code of enter was forgotten to be deleted! Thank you for the report. And ofc thanks a lot for playing :)

Submitted(+4)

All bow to Count Down! What a nice way to integrate the theme in a strategy game. I quite liked playing it!

Developer(+2)

We are glad you've liked our idea! You've really cheered us UP!

Submitted(+4)

I had a lot of fun playing this one. Good job!
