Amazing game! You guys should continue your project! And hopefully one day it could be on the steam store.
Ingenious integration of dice into an environmental puzzle solver. Definitely tricker than it appears at face value, but very rewarding to solve. Awesome work!
This is awesome! I love the theme and the puzzles and everything about it! Very clever use of the theme.
Yo, this is great! You earned yourself a follow! :) Enjoyed every minute with it.
Great game. Good work using the them to make an interesting puzzle game that didn't involve randomness or rolling a dice. Puzzle just the right challenge for me so I found it very enjoyable.
Great puzzle design and an interesting take on the theme. Great art and sound effects, some music would be nice though
Got stuck on the same level mark did, I admit defeat xD
Good job on the awesome game!
Excellent puzzle mechanics and great level design make this an absolutely gem. The visuals are cute and readable (which is perfect for 48 hours), but I would love to see this expanded into a full game with nice coat of paint. This concept really feels like lightning in a bottle, so I would run with it if you can. Amazing game.
A very charming puzzle game, I completed it happily. Now for the review.
Presentation: The game looks really good, the art style is cute but also very readable. The way the tiles counts down(up, or alternate) is very nice as a gameplay challenge but especially satisfying from a visual presentation perspective, as it makes the space feel more real as the player interacts with it. From an audio perspective, the tile changing sound was very satisfying and clear. The step sounds were a nice touch. I think my only feedback as far as the audio goes is I whish there was some music. Your answer form says you created music so perhaps it is a bug that I didn't hear any, but regardless I think some music even very simple music would have only improved the playing experience.
Now for the gameplay/mechanics: The mechanics are very clever and simple (at least on the surface), and allowed for a very fun puzzle experience. I really like how each mechanic was introduced with good simple levels that built on each other before advancing to more complex variations. I think the level design was really good overall, and because of its seeming simplicity I never felt overwhelmed or forgot what a tile did. I knew what to expect from each tile type pretty quickly, and when I struggled with a puzzle I was able to try different things because i knew what each tile type did, and the best part is you didn't even use text to explain it. (Really really good work!) In terms of feedback, i really don't have much from a gameplay perspective. There was lots of content for a jam game of this size, and nothing surprised me and I didn't experience any bugs. Overall, it felt really professional. If i had to nitpick, I would say maybe the player characters movements could be a bit bouncier and responsive but that is really more personal preference than anything on the game side.
Thank you for sharing this game with us, and congrats on making a really fun puzzle game, i hope you expand on it in the future.
Saw this on the GMTK stream. Really fun and simple mechanics. That last level had me for a while!
Saw this one on Mark's stream today, and decided I wanted to play it. Good game, clever use of the dot patterns on the dice as obstacles, and the last level was tricky but I did manage to figure it out!
Wonderful work on the puzzle design! Intuitive mechanics that lead to a lot of fun gotcha moments.
Spectacular little game. Congrats on finishing this in 48 hours!
The premise for your game is very clear, the puzzles teach the player the rules well and then challenge that understanding. The variety of tiles feels good, too. Perfect for a jam game. I even got my spouse to play it and she called it "very satisfying". She's a tough one to please when it comes to jam games.
As others have mentioned, a bit of sound track would have elevated this even further, but a little volume control or sound testing would have helped. The star sounds are just so much louder than the footsteps or other sfx.
Well done. Keep making games!
Very, very good game!
If added a soundtrack, it would be absolutely perfect!
Clever puzzles, self-explanatory mechanics, cute graphics.
Add a sound track, more levels, and you have a game people would be willing to pay for!
My only 15/15 game on the jam so far <3
This is a really cool logic puzzle and in my opion should be in the final video. Only critisism is that this deserves a killer soundtrack.
this is my favorite game I've played so far in the game jam
the game mechanics were really fun to play with and it was easy to understand by just playing
I really enjoyed the last puzzle and I'd have loved if there were more puzzles that could be even harder
The pixel art in this game looks really good as well
the only thing missing is a good soundtrack but I understand that a soundtrack would take too much time to create and it's still fun without
This is super creative! The puzzles are very well designed - very fun game!
This was a simple, yet incredible puzzle game! The mechanics are super unique, and the introduction of each new tile perfectly builds off previous levels. The puzzles are also well designed, with solutions that require you to be clever.
I also love the aesthetics, the birb is cute and the different tile "environments" are a great way to help players remember which tile is which! The sound effects are also very good, perfectly fitting the things happening.
I wish there was music, and there maybe could be something more interesting in the background? With maybe some short animations for the obstacles growing/shrinking out of the ground. But that's for a full game, you definitely spent your time on the right parts of development for this jam.
Good job! I hope you win, and I hope you expand this into a full game!
This was such a good puzzle game! Some real stumpers with satisfying solutions. Really unique implementation of the jam's theme!
I would like to see some animations on the tiles themselves and some background music, but that's just minor aesthetics. Make more levels please!!!
Can't deny the originality in the mechanics. Well done there. I felt like the only thing holding this game back is that it's art isn't too consistent. Apart from that though, great puzzle design overall.
This game is fantastic. Easily one of the best ones I've seen so far. All it takes is a simple concept stretched to its fullest and you have definitely done that. Great Job!
