I really like the art! It's frustrating when the dice don't do anything, and the first enemy was really hard to kill with only one dice, so I suggest changing that. Otherwise, good job!

Thank you, only one person- all art, music and sfx were done from scratch using open source tools and recording them during the jam!

I really liked the clean explanation of how to play it. One small problem was the collisions with the dice not working 100% of the time but overall it is playable.

When you are int he chamber with 3 enemies and you have 3 dices here, having always the popup to decide what dice to keep is quite frustrating. Maybe auto-switch the dices that are of the same type.

Developer

Yeah, definitely lacking some polish/bug fixing, was a bit late due to time restrictions.

Fine little game. You should be proud of yourself. I def can see the amount of work you put into it. I had fun playing it despite the supposed jankyness. And it had a great joke in it. Made me laugh.

Congrats on finishing and submitting your game!

I liked the goofy programmer art. Simple sprites and animations often work the best! It's charming, too. I got stuck on the second level. I couldn't kill the black pawns quickly enough with the given dice. I don't know if they keep spawning or what, but I got overwhelmed.

Having dice with blank sides really hurts this design, I think. You might be better served by having weak dice (1-1-1-1-2-3) or something. Especially on level 1, you can spend quite a lot of time doing nothing trying to kill one enemy which is not a good player experience. Randomness can be used in games, but it still has to feel good and the blank faces miss the mark on this. Retrieving the dice also felt a little cumbersome. If the enemies were a tad slower, it might work, but as it is, the mechanic didn't feel very good.

Good job on your game and keep making games!

Developer

Yeah, they keep spawning, didn't have much time for content: more enemies, more dice, more levels. Also more polishing/bug fixing needed. Cheers!

The core gameplay loop was simple and satisfying. Reminds me a little of Hades' cast mechanic. I liked the flow of the first level and how it introduced the main elements of the game. Being able to pick up two dice with different damage multipliers/effects gave the game more depth, would love to see this explored more. I think the enemies were supposed to be pawns or maybe Sorry! game pieces, but they looked pretty phallic which made me laugh. Overall good job, this was fun to play, would just want more beyond the tutorial and seemingly endless 2nd level. And of course bonus points are awarded for having such a brilliant title : )

Developer

I am glad I made you laugh- the shape was not intended, but if it made you laugh- that was good- I tried to supply the lack of content/polish with humor :-).

Interesting concept! Nice job!

I like it. Style reminds me of OG Gauntlet. The idea of having different weapons as dice with different pips is cool, good creative space to explore there. Props to the dev(s) for including a full tutorial level- that's a tough thing to do on a short deadline.

Developer

I actually included the tutorial because I didn't have the time to do proper level design! :-D It was actually easier (took me 5 minutes at the end of the jam)!

Cool concept, would love to see it fleshed out more. Odd choice for the floor color, and the dice sometimes wouldnt hit, but still a nice job!

Developer

Thank you, definitely need more practice on finding the right palette and art direction, specially under pressure! I run out of time and got a bit confused with the mechanics, didn't have time for polishing and content. Thank you for playing!
