Nice game! I have mixed feelings for the mechanic. On one hand, I like how you can place the amount of movement that may happen. On the other hand, the randomness was heavily against me at times. Luckily there was a speed up.
When I first looked at the interface, I thought the six slots represented the faces of die and still wonder if they alter the chances for rolls. At least it didn't feel like it. I feel there could be a 4x speed up as well, or some sort of timer which triggers faster pace.
Well done, it was an enjoyable experience!
As others have pointed out, the one clear pain point in an otherwise nice idea is the randomness and waiting can be a chore. I think if you could figure out some other way for the arrows to be decided, or maybe give them a predicable order in addition to some other obstacles, this could be turned around into something really neat.
Thanks for your comment!
In fact, I had spending like 70% of the time trying to find a solution to the issue of this game mechanic.
When I finally figured out some way by referencing the game "Dicey Dungeon", the deadline is just so close. And the mechanic change involves lots of coding, so I gave up few hours before the deadline and went to sleep. (had to work the next day)
Eventually, I chose to accept my failure, I wasn't really satisfied about the result.
But I guess the result isn't that much matter, the process of making this is. I would probably work on the mechanic change some day, if I think it's fun enough, I might release it as a new game!
This is definitely something different from the other games in this jam. The concept is good and well executed. My main complaint is that sometimes you have a good solution but have to sit there for over a minute or 2 waiting for the RNG to come through and complete the level. This is still an enjoyable game.
This was an interesting concept! However, more often than not, I found myself just waiting for the levels to play out which got stale pretty quickly. However, the cute blob and its hearts made up for it <3
Oooooh this game is really neat! I can imagine having an attack die too in the future. Or maybe a checkpoint level where you reconfigure the dice mid level? This has a lot of potential and I would love to see you do more about it.
Very charming art + sounds! I enjoyed how the levels were built as puzzles that could be completed with random inputs. It's a nice execution of the theme :)
I looooove how you used the art and sounds to create a very fitting atmoshpere, but the most I appreciate your programming skills coding this logic in such a short amount of time, really like the game idea and your final produkt .
I katto for this game: =^.^=
The presentation is top notch and I really liked the concept. My biggest issue was that the random chance doesn't really interact with the gameplay in an engaging way. You can solve the puzzle and then you are mostly just waiting a minute for the right rolls. Overall still a really good submission!
Idea of customising a die to move is really neat,
Game is presented well also,
really good job!
The art and presentation were really amazing... The concept was really creative, Nice job!
Very nice mood, art + music + sfx are nice! good idea to add the time x2, quite unique answer to the theme too! ^^
Nicely presented game :)
Cute character and nice SFXs
I really liked the music!
The art style and sound effect are so adorable! I like the design that choosing next action by roll the dice, Good job! : )
