This is a really charming little game that felt pretty balanced. It took me roughly 10 minutes to finish my castle - but by that point my town was full of factories which made me sad :( I would love to be able to win a game like this by building a cute little town full of cottages.

Very polished game with a very nice scope for a Jam!
Really nice take on the theme. It does work insanely good for a city builder mechanic. Seems appropriate and interesting enough to construct a game around it. Art is good, game tutors itself, controls are flawless and the music is just right!
Great entry! Had fun playing!

All the feedback below haven't affected the rating.
As a main point of improving the game after the Jam I see adding of some kind of challenge and punishment for the player. Maybe turn wise (random encounters messing with your buildings or dice to play around it) or more weight to the skipped turns (taking money away or use the decay mechanics every turn, not the successful ones), or even restricting a player by tiles (you cannot place all buildings, some of them are just too big).

Very  cute! took me a while to get but once I did I understood perfectly

Lovely game in its simplicity! A very relaxing experience overall.

The calculation phase did end up taking a long time towards the end (but that's because I focused on owning tons of barns), but other than that I enjoyed this a lot!

This feels like an NES version of a board game that doesn't exist. Pretty fun! I could definitely see potential in this idea, especially if you wanted to expand to multiplayer.

Lovely game! It reminded me of a board game called Machi Koro. The decay mechanic was interesting.

very short and neat! felt like i could play this for hours. super enjoyable, the music choice was on point. would love to see this eventually developed into something bigger

Short, simple and very nice game. Very enjoyable!

It's pretty easy as you can just build a couple of forges/factories and just hold down z but I liked the aesthetic! Maybe make it harder/take more strategy?

Short but fun game, it's pretty relaxing just vibing to the music and trying to get to 40 coins. Surprisingly enjoyed my time playing it!

Nice entry! There's a bit of strategy involved in making sure you build a good variety of buildings so you don't get screwed over. But on the flip side, it's also fun to invest in just one type of building and hope on the RNG gods for the jackpot. Good stuff!

Pretty fun little game. Short play time but is indeed relaxing.

I can see that balancing isn't the key here. When a player makes an investment they guarantee a set amount of return, given enough dice rolls.

If you want this game to be more strategic, consider letting the buildings decay when their number is not rolled. (either every miss, or appoint a specific number that will trigger their decay.

With a decay trigger, you may also want to increase their hp to balance it out.

I mean, it's still your choice, coz it's totally fine to not punish the player at all.
After all, we don't just play to be challenged at all times.

Gotta admit, this was a pretty solid experience.

It wasn't anything too fancy, but I'm such a sucker for city builders & management games, and this one really ticks those 2 boxes pretty well. And I loved the fact that at first the backbone of my economy was simply lots of barns to keep my population fed.

This was truly lovely.

And by the end, my city turned out quite pleasing :D

love the dice roll :P

Nice calm game. Great to relax. The music and the art create a really chilled out armosphere.

I absolutely liked this little city builder or... well. Whatever it is ha. I enjoyed it to get the 40 coins to build the castle and zoned out for a while. Nice music, adorable art style. This can be a good casual zen-like game with some form of challenge-mode too. 3/4/5

Stay crunchy.

Relaxing little game with low scope and high polish will always win me over. I agree with other commenters that it would be nice to have a lose condition. Great music and art

Love this game. Like a cute chill 8bit Machi Koro.
Perfect little PICO-8 game. Well done.
