How does your game fit the theme?
Each unit’s actions are recorded and then looped (replayed) in future turns. Players must plan around these time loops, cooperating with their past selves to solve puzzles, open doors and avoid traps. The entire game is built around interacting with and predicting these repeating action loops.

This is a really cool concept. I got stumped on one of the puzzles,as I couldn't figure out how to change the phase of the characters, so a door would always slam shut on one. Bu I really like the concept. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for checking out the game! Appreciate it! Yeah, it seems like quite some of the comments saying that they don't really know how to change their units turn and I really need to improve in terms of UI side!

Seems nice, but I get stucked when 2nd character appears, I cannot change the control from one to the other (in web version). Once I click one, it stay on him forever.

Developer

Hey, thanks for trying out the game! You have to end your current unit's turn before selecting the other unit. Probably I need to enhance the UX part and I'll note it down. There is a walkthrough video under the game and hope that helps!

Really interesting mechanic for a puzzle, I don’t think I’ve seen this interpretation so far in the jam. The level design was pretty good too; I got about halfway through and watched your walk-through for the rest. It is quite challenging I think, but not unreasonably so. Having said that, I think it could do with a little more on the UX side.

  • Since the logic is so heavily based on the number of steps taken by the players, I think the flooring should have some grid overlay so that the tiles can be distinguished and counted. Otherwise, it relies a tad too much on just trying things out randomly and hoping you can reproduce it again.

  • It was a bit confusing initially on how the end turn mechanic worked. I think you should highlight the active player at all times (or gray out the inactive ones and disable clicking on them). As it is right now, you try to click on the inactive one, and it is just unresponsive and you should never let players feels like their input is ignored.

The game is also fairly polished, except perhaps when the characters loop back to the initial point; a tween which shrinks/enlarges them over time would look so much nicer instead of plopping in and out of existence. Still had fun with this though. Just wanted to let you know how it could be improved!

Developer

Hey thanks for the feedback! I am more than happy to receive any kinds of feedback and this makes me realize what I need to improve! I think the grid layout is great as it does actually makes the player know they have to move grid by grid. I do have a highlight border on each unit you selected but i guess that is not that obvious to the player and I'll note that down! Thanks for such a constructive feedback!

This is a rare gem. A game that can balance all this stuff that's going on is not common. You done good! That art is incredible too! I truly enjoyed myself thank you for this submission. Great work!

Also I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'm truly happy that someone really enjoy my work :D (even though nearly all the assets are pre-made assets tho). And yes sure thing! I reply and rate everyone who comments on my game so no worries ;D

Really cool puzzles! I really like that you went for a turn-based game! It really made the puzzles more unique and fun!

Well done :D

Thank you so much for trying out the game! :D

Cute game, the music fits really well and the puzzle design feels well done, the slow build up of ideas and mechanics is easy to follow along with. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the comments :D Much love!

Well done one your game, sadly I got stuck at the level with the enemy, it just killed me every time.

If I am being honest, I think the loop concept does this game more harm than good. I got a bit frustrated sometimes with stepping on and off the pressure plate, trying to get things to line up. I got squished by the door at least 6 or 7 times. Maybe if you actually record a loop of move (so you end where you start) it would be less, jarring, I am not sure though.

That being said, the game is actually well polished, and the mechanics get introduced smoothly. General vibe and music is also on spot. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Yo thanks for playing the game, really appreciate it! I do agree that some levels are not easy but since this is a puzzle game, it requires more thinking and trial-and-error in order to get past the level. If you want to know the solutions, there is a Youtube video showing the walkthrough for all the levels under the game. Hope you had fun and thanks!

Nice 3D art, with movement being super snappy and instant, just the way I like it, and nice job adding new mechanics in one at a time. This game would do wonderfully with an in-game tutorial going through some of the mechanics slowly without a big wall of text. Good job!

Developer

Hi, Thanks for checking out the game! Yes, I initially wanted to do an in-game tutorial but due to time constraint, I couldn't make it ;-; Thanks again for trying out the game!

Nice game, and fairly polished too!

I have some comments, though:

  • Would be nice to be able to stand on a tile for multiple “ticks” because at times I had to move back and forth to synchronize the characters
  • Maybe some movement animations would be nice, but don’t fall into the trap I fell in when making our game, making the movement sluggish
  • Not sure about the characters restarting from the very beginning each time. Maybe some checkpoints would help

Otherwise, great job!

Developer

Hey, Thanks for checking out the game!

Regarding to your comments:

  • It was purposely designed like that so players will need to plan their moves strategically in order to clear the puzzles! It would be less fun if the unit is just standing on the pressure plate to open the gate and also lost the "loop" feature.
  • There is a walking animation but due to the units moving grid by grid, the animation is being played for a very short while which makes it hardly noticeable.
  • That would be cool! I'll note that down and add in the future!

Thanks for your suggestions! Really appreciate it! Much love :D

I liked the idea and puzzles!

Developer

Thanks! Appreciate it :D

Cool game, it's surprisingly polished for only 4 days, the only improvement I would suggest is being able to hold the move buttons so you don't have to spam in long corridors. Overall very good !

Developer

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll note that down and update it after the jam is over. Thank you so much for trying out the game! Much love!

Cool idea, fun puzzles, I really like the level design, really fun.

Developer

Thanks! Really appreciate it!

A unique take on block pushing puzzle games! It was tricky keeping track of which characters were looping at first. For some of the puzzles I had the knights walk back and forth over the button, but that strategy fell apart once I got a little further in.

Developer

Thanks for playing the game! :D

Creative and fun game in general, some levels do need thinking and it feels rewarding to get through them. I do need however to point out that the audio is not very balanced. The spike sound is way too loud compare to the bgm (which is how I adjusted my master volume in the first place).

Developer

Thanks for playing the game! The spike sound is due to multiple spikes in a level and each one of them is playing a sound which causes them to overlay. Thanks for pointing that out!

Submitted(+1)

Ah the dreaded! I had that problem too for one of my projects. The way I get rid of it is to write a custom singleton sfx player script that, when asked to play a certain sound, check if the sound in question is already in play and only plays the sound if is not already playing. Granted I am developing with Godot instead of Unity but I assume same logic may apply. Hope it helps and one day the game can be updated with great level of polish :p

Thank you so much for the info :D Much appreciated!
