How does your game fit the theme?
This game is a game about snapping fishing lines by running it in loops around obstacles to build tension in the line. We've designed both puzzles around making loops with fishing line, and an endless arcade mode in which players are encouraged to maximize loops for points.

Usually not a fan of games where visibility is limited but here is completely fine since you see the rocks first, liked it! The interpretation of the theme also is unique
Hey thanks for giving our game a go! I'm glad to hear the limited visibility wasn't terribly challenging/bothersome. We deliberately tried to balance the darkness itself as much as possible and we made sure to leave players the option to look at the map again to make sure the darkness posed a challenge without being a general nuisance.
Thank you for the kind words, and congratulations on your submission as well!
"Feels great to play—nice work!"
Thank you for playing! Happy to hear you had a good time with the gameplay!
Congratulations on your own to the game jam as well!
Atmospheric was epic as hell. Music complimented really well. Really loved it. EPIC. Would appreciate the effort if you could rate my game too.
Hey thanks for playing our game! So happy to hear we nailed the atmosphere for you, even though we didn't make the music ourselves we tried to find tracks that best fit the visuals and gameplay we put together. I hope you found the gameplay enjoyable as well.
Congrats on playing our submission and I look forward to giving yours a try :)
Wowowow great work on the game and level design FOR REAL!! Super impressed :D I am a fan of this concept, the atmosphere is great, and the music/sound effects really add to it.
This is definitely just me, but I kept squinting even though I knew it wouldn’t help me see better LMAO. That limited visibility really does crank up the difficulty!
Thank you so much for playing! This comment was super heartwarming to read, and I'm so so so glad you liked our game. Happy to hear the atmosphere was to your liking, that was one of the big things we wanted to nail down once we had a sound gameplay loop, and I'm glad to hear you found the concept interesting.
I definitely squinted a ton myself instinctively while I was playtesting initially XD. I hope the darkness wasn't too much of an impediment, we did our best to balance the levels around it and make sure it added challenge without being too too debilitating.
Congrats again on your submission, and thanks for playing!
Love to see more rope games ✊
Amen! I'd been wanting to work on rope physics for a good while and this theme seemed almost perfect for it. For this game we had some very specific rope behavior we were aiming for and our programmers put a good amount of time into refining it and making sure it performed well. Thanks for playing our game, and I hope you enjoyed!
Fun puzzle/reaction game! I wasn't expecting any sound effects and I didn't realize my sound was up so loud so the angler fish actually jumpscared me lol
Thanks for giving our game a shot! Glad to hear you had fun with it!
Sorry for the jumpscare (while we were hoping the anglerfish would get people I hope we didn't destroy your ears too badly in the process 😭). We definitely could've spent some more time working on the audio balance in the future, and there's currently a slight issue with the BGM in the web build that probably doesn't help either.
Congrats on completing the jam yourself, and thanks for playing!
Oh to be clear, it was a good thing, not a bad jumpscare :)
Good take on the theme and fun to play!
Thanks for playing our game! Happy to hear you had a good time with it :)
Instantly rage quitted when I saw that Oh No Level 😭. Spent a good 20 minutes on the game, very good interpretation of the theme! Great work! :D
Thanks for playing our game! Glad you found our interpretation of the theme interesting, and I'm super glad to hear you were able to spend a good amount of time with the game. I've been trying to play with physics simulations and such and I haven't done anything with rope/string physics before so we wanted to experiment with that in this game.
Yeah that "Oh No" level is certainly its own beast XD. It was designed to be a bonus challenge level after playing through the tutorial levels and spending some time with the arcade. I hope you found the balancing of the levels and the arcade/endless mode okay!
Congratulations on your own submission as well, and thanks again for playing our game!
Those were the tutorials? 💀
Sort of! Really they were meant to introduce the various mechanics of the game, especially with levels 5-8 introducing each enemy type and how they function. That said, these weren't meant to be easy tutorials by any means, especially past level 5. Hopefully they weren't terribly challenging
Dang that means there's probably a lot of levels I missed, should have kept going 😭
Nah the 9th level is the last level (And meant as a bonus quite frankly). The only levels available are the ones in the level select screen. The only other content past that "oh no" level is the endless mode, which you can access from the main menu without even beating it in the first place. The levels were meant to prepare you for that. You definitely got through the bulk of the game which I'm happy to see, and I hope you had fun with it :)
oh thank gosh
Great game ! I like the idea, however the music broke after some time and stopped playing, idk if it was a problem because of the web version, amazing tho !
Thank you so much for playing our game! I'm super happy to hear you had a good time with our game.
Apologies for the music bug in the web version, we're aware that occasionally the music will bug out and not play even if you raise the music volume in the settings, I will most likely go in and fix that along with some of the visual bugs once voting ends (I wish I knew more about Godot web builds prior :P ).
Congrats again on your submission, and thanks for giving our game a go :)
I really liked the atmosphere of the game and the mechanic and story is really unique, great job! I did wish the light around the player was a little larger, or maybe show the level lit up for a second after respawning, as I would forget how the level was spaced out and it made it harder than it needed to be. But I thought the levels were well designed, not too difficult but made you think for a minute. Story is also pretty funny. When the fish dodged the fisherman but couldn't resist a worm, I felt that. Must be scary being a little fish in the ocean. Awesome job!
Hey thanks for playing our game! So happy to hear you enjoyed the mini storyline with the fish and the overall atmosphere, that was something we made sure to nail as we were polishing! Also glad to hear you found the levels reasonably balanced, we did our best to design the levels as a means of preparing you both for the arcade mode and the challenge level.
On the note of showing the level lit up on respawn, definitely our bad for not making this as clear as it should be, but if you open the pause menu in game and click "Replay Map" it actually restarts the level with the introduction dialogue and the map lit up, so we left that option available in case people needed to look at the map a second time while playing. We figured we should make respawning snappier and leave reviewing the map as an option, but didn't make that option as clear as we could've, apologies!
Congrats on your submission as well and thanks again for trying our game out :)
If you need a walkthrough of the game or are struggling with any of the levels (specifically level 9), I have a video where I play through the game:
havent seen a game like this out here in this jam, really cool concept, the artstyle is very nice, the atmosphere really created a tense setting just like the one the fish one stuck in! liked the game and enjoyed it very much.
Thanks for playing our game! I'm glad you took a liking to the overall atmosphere of the game. That was something we really took care to nail down from the moment we decided to theme our game around fish and the deep sea. Happy to see you had fun with our game!
This game perfectly captured the feeling of being a small fish in a big pond. So many dangers! I seriously think this one can go all the way, it's really executed to perfection. Hopefully the lack of sleep was worth it :)
Also the last level is straight from hell, I seriously cannot beat it.
Thanks for the feedback mate! Lack of sleep was absolutely worth it for the polish and to capture the vibe. I would've even slept less to work on the balancing a little bit more if I could've but I think I'm happy where the game's at.
I'll be forwarding your thoughts about that last bonus level to the guy who designed it, I think he will be very amused/pleased >:)
Joking aside hope the balance of the rest of the levels was on point, we for sure could've better prepared the player for that final challenge
Great game idea and design! Great string physics!
I liked the natural movement of the fish the most; it was easy to control. Unfortunately, there is no music in the game.
If you have time, I would be very grateful if you could rate my game as well 😊
Thanks for playing our game! I’m glad to hear you found the fish’s movement fun and intuitive. We hoped to make the movement satisfying enough while incorporating it into the overall challenge of the game.
Sorry to hear the music bugged out for you. There actually is music in the game though you might have to go into the settings (with the ESCAPE key in game or from the main menu) to turn up the volume of the music. If that doesn’t work though that’s definitely our fault and I’ll add it to the list of fixes we might incorporate after the jam.
Congrats on your submission, and I look forward to trying out your game when I get some time! :)
This game has a really nice concept and it is also really fun
This game has a cute premise but contains surprisingly spooky moments. I enjoy thinking about my routes, though I could often get away with circling around the border of the maps. The stamina mechanic makes me a be a bit more thoughtful, so I think that was a smart addition.
The "oh no" level is nuts. While I believe it is possible, it unfortunately killed the pacing of the game for me. I think it should have been reserved as some sort of bonus level.
Thanks for the feedback and for playing our game! I’m happy to hear we largely did a good job nailing the vibe of the game with the visuals. You absolutely hit the nail on the head with the stamina bar, that was one of the main mechanics we took care to balance per level and in that arcade mode though we tried to be generous for players who are first learning the mechanics in the earlier levels.
Sorry to hear the last level killed the pacing for you, I won’t lie we were rather pressed for level design and level 9 was not designed to be balanced whatsoever, even if it is possible. Ideally we would’ve added more balanced but challenging levels to better test player knowledge before that level. Alternatively we probably could’ve booted the player to the endless (arcade) mode after the previous level instead.
That being said, I do hope you were able to try the arcade mode. The levels were primarily designed to act as a tutorial for arcade mode, though I don’t think we did as good a job as we could have making people aware of that mode or really explaining how to play that mode. I’d love to hear your thoughts about the balancing of it.
Congrats on your submission! And I look forward to trying it myself :)
Really like this concept! I got to the last level and was like wth is this lol. You have a variety of mechanics that are all interesting and build upon the others which is nice. Maybe one thing could be to increase the rotation speed? Felt a little slow, so amping up the speed could make it even more fun! Congrats on your submission and good luck!
Thank you for playing our game! We did our best trying to add some variety to the game especially since the fishing line itself is a relatively simple system. Thanks for pointing out that maybe the player movement could be snappier, we were kind of pressed for time for balancing and level design so I wound up focusing on the enemies to make sure the arcade mode was as balanced and fun as possible.
Congratulations on your submission as well! I look forward to trying out your entry myself :)
Really cool game!
I was hoping to be able to see a little more because the art is really good. Nice work
Thank you for playing our game! I’m glad you enjoyed the art direction, a bulk of our polishing time was spent trying to nail down the overall vibe of the game.
We were unfortunately pressed for time towards the end for level design, but I do hope you had some fun with the arcade mode as the levels were designed primarily as a tutorial for the arcade mode.
pretty fun game!
