Woah , great stuff, always tough and bold to tackle multiple minigames for a game jam but lovely stuff and great art wise to
I loved the fact that the theme was reversed, like, at first, you imagine soemone stuck in a loop that wants to get out, but this is the complete reverse and i love it!
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Really cool narrative and collection of minigames, came back for a few afterwards! Also I think the artwork is on point.
Thanks a lot!
Very cute, I like the story, the minigames were neat though some of them were executed a bit weirdly like the newspaper one and the difficulty didn't really scale, but very fun!
Thank you! Not sure what you mean by "difficulty doesn't scale", the point requirements do increase after every day. If you mean that the games are uneven in difficulty, I fully agree though, that definitely needs some rebalancing :D
Yeah that's what I meant, the point requirements are there but the minigames could be re-balanced in that regard.
This one had a really nice story/narrative too it and I enjoyed how silly it was. I didn't get to play all the minigames, so I'll just talk about the one I enjoyed the most and the one I enjoyed the least. I really enjoyed the one where you have to hit the man with the mic. That one got a couple of laughs outta me. I didn't care for the bad news minigame and would have preferred to type the words instead. Regardless, I hada great time playing.
Thank you! Yeah, I can see the newspaper one being a bit divisive, though we intentionally wanted all the games to be mouse-only and this one in particular to be more focused on pattern recognition than on pure speed. But yeah, with 9 mini-games, there's bound to be some that people like more and some that people like less.
A nice narrative with a lot of good minigames! Nicely done!
Thank you!
This is great! Really funny take on the theme. I’m impressed at how many minigames you were able to include! Nicely done!
Thank you!
Hey team, saw you in the discord & I'm glad I did. I love Phil & aspire to keep the human male from finding inner peace. Though I wasn't able to cause enough mischief with the shoelaces a few times over, I hope to one day fulfill Phil's dream. Congrats on a good jam!
Haha, thanks! Yeah, shoelace game is definitely one of the tougher ones. We'll probably do a balancing patch after the jam to make Phil's life a bit easier!
Very cute! Loved the voice acting and the detailed drawings.
Thank you!
Great series of mini-games - I loved the idea to flip the perspective from Phil to the mischievous groundhog! The artwork was really nicely done, and each of the mini-games was intuitive enough to grasp quickly, Wario-ware style :) The voiceover was a nice touch too! I'm very impressed you made all of these mini-games in just 4 days - great stuff guys!
Aw, thanks a lot! :)
Cool idea and cute artstyle. Difficulty range between the minigames could use some calibrating.
Thank you! Yeah, we definitely want to do a balancing and polish update after the jam. Cut it a bit close at the end and didn't have time for proper playtesting :D
Cute! I loved trying the minigames. However, as a longtime fan of the movie (a friend of mine hosted a Groundhog Day party every year for like 20+ years) I was hoping for a lot more easter eggs like THAT ONES A DOOZY
Haha, fair! To be completely honest, neither of us have watched the movie in probably 2 decades, oops. Might watch it over the weekend and add some post jam Easter eggs.
i was waiting to run into this concept! well done! i had some issues with the shoe lace mini game, but restarted and tried the rest. good idea in adding the practice button!
Thanks! Yeah, the shoelace mini game is a little sketchy and could definitely use some better feedback. Might add something post jam.
great job to the both of you! very cute concept well executed, the groundhog is adorable and I hope they can hone their unusual skills forever
Haha, thanks! I'm afraid all good things must come to an end, but would be nice to give Phil at least a couple more days in the spotlight.
Fun and creative idea! And found a lot of the mini-games an interesting take on them. Maybe could have added a pause screen to change the volume/etc while still in the game, and to be able to leave the practice levels early.
Overall impressive, good work!
Thanks! Both are good suggestions and I'll blame it on the deadline that they are not in the game yet, but we'll probably add them post jam.
Incredible. Well done. Fantastic idea. Some of the puzzles went on a bit too long, I think if you trimmed them a little a la Wario Ware it would keep things moving, and some are a bit difficult, but I absolutely enjoyed myself. Art and audio both top tier. Cheers :D
Thank you! Yeah, we'll probably do some after jam rebalancing that will include cutting down game length.
Genuinely funny. I really loved the voice over. I played all the mini-games and found them genuinely entertaining.
I do not have a ton of feedback, it is delightful.
Heh, thank you!
This was a good laugh! The variety of minigames was great, but the ice cube one was super tough! I only managed to hold onto my dear human male for another 3 days...
Thanks! 3 days is pretty good, never managed too go above 4 myself. That being said, we'll probably do some rebalancing after the jam to make the mini games shorter and the score increase less steep.
Groundhog Day was also the first thing we thought of when the theme was announced.
This is absolutely great. I love groundhog’s day and this was a funny twist on the groundhog sabotaging the “human male” haha. Had fun trying out all the mini games. nice work!
Thank you! It's been a while since either of us have seen the movie so the game might not be 100% lore accurate, but let's just call it artistic freedom.
