I like racing games and this was a unique take on racing.

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted

Nice work! I lost a couple times, which made my victory against myself all the sweeter, haha

Developer

GGs! Glad you had fun :D

Submitted

Bruv I lost a few rounds against myself :))) Well I like the idea pretty much, just wish to have more levels, a camera at higher view point, or like a mini map.

Good submission!

Developer

True. I didn't really know if my game even fit the theme that good, but definitely make the camera zoom out a lil. Thanks!

"Basically you have to beat yourself"

Developer(+1)

Yup! That's correct

Submitted

fun game, I lost to my past selves because one of them got stuck on the starting line in front of me XD

Developer

oh lol, happens xd

Submitted

Fun idea! I was pretty bad at driving in every timeline.

Developer

All good dude. The controls are wonky thats for sure tho, not all you

Submitted

I'm better than me, my past me it's too slow, I am faster now. Love it man

Developer

Lol, glad you enjoyed the game!

Submitted(+1)

Turning felt good. I would zoom out a bit so you can feel comfortable going faster.

Developer

I agree! Hope you had fun though :)

I like the concept, especially since you can actually bump into your past selves and it affects them - you haven't just made a simple recording and played it back. I've built quite a few top-down racers myself for commercial clients, and I know how tricky they can be to get to feel good.

The controls for the car are actually my least favourite part of this game. Driving should be fun, a little bit of slip, skidmarks, wheelspin, understeer and oversteer... Your car has little of those attributes, and doesn't really feel like, well, a car!

The view is also far too close to be able to see what's coming. The arrows on the road help a little, but not enough. I failed to beat my first tentative slow lap, and almost gave up when I fell too far behind. As it happened my past-self got to the end of their replay and ended the game.

I know some of that sounds harsh, but it's important to remember this is what games jams are all about: Try something quickly, see if it works. Hopefully learn from your mistakes so you don't repeat them at a bigger scale! It's enough of a challenge just to get a playable game live in 4 days, congratulations on a working game (loads of teams don't get that far).

Developer

I totally agree! Thanks for your honest opinion, I will try to learn from these mistakes. I would also have to agree with you on the driving part, its kind of lazy if I think about it, I technically submitted the game a day early and could have added those features that would have made the game much better, but decided to fix the web build since I thought it was more important (audio was bugged before). Again, thank you for your thoughts, I appreciate them a lot! :]

Submitted

I think you made the right decision to get the game to play in a browser. Lots of folks (me included) don't play downloadable Jam games, both because there's a security risk, and because it's a lot more hassle. It takes longer, needs to be cleaned up when finsihed, and often doesn't work because there's a file missing or something.

Developer

I100% agree with you on that. Thanks tho!

Submitted

Cool concept. The controls weren't much easy. I did a car game for another jam and what I learnt is that the game must not be too difficult nor too easy, I know it's a really difficult sweet spot to achieve and I don't know if I have the right to be giving advices but I wish you good look.

Developer

True, some of my playtesters said the controls were too slippery and some said it was perfect or too slow, so I added a slider to control turn speed thinking it would at least help a bit. Thanks though!

Submitted

Yeah I've seen the slider but still had an hard time. Maybe I'm not much good at it.

Submitted

I was terrible. butt he game was good :) CHeers!

Developer

Cheers!

I tried to do poorly on purpose so that it would be easier to beat my time later. When I was actually trying, it was hard to beat my bad time. I don't know if that says more about the game or about me.

(excellent game name, by the way)

Developer(+1)

Yea, I wanted to prevent that, but didn't find a good way. The time limit used to be 60 seconds, I could finish the track in 35 seconds, but playtesters said 60 seconds wasn't enough time for a new player that might be struggling to finish on time

Submitted

I really enjoyed it, my only gripe is that it is quite difficult to pass your past selves, I would have preferred if they were just ghosts, but I understand that that would take away from the idea of racing your past self

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! It sure does take a while to learn how to beat your past selves, and I don't blame you for that. I tried making it easier by making your past selves accelerate slower, and just slower in general, but it's still really hard!

Very isekai like title lmao. I love the idea! Tho im not a huge fan of stock music in jams

Developer(+1)

Nice Game Im Going To Grind This Till I Get The World Record BEST GAME ON THIS WEBSITE FR

Developer

ttt

Submitted(+1)

I clicked this game because of the title alone, but I ended up having an incredibly fun time with it. I didn't experience any game breaking bugs on the web version. Good luck with the rest of the jam :) !

Developer(+1)

lol, thanks for playing and glad you had fun! I really didn't want people to play the web version because it has audio issues, which in my opinion made the game a bit less fun

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I didn't notice many issues. As far as I could tell, the game felt well made and polished!

Developer(+1)

Thanks dude :D
