Haha, a very clever interpretation of the theme. Art was excellent, really liked the random button combination gameplay feature. Keep making games and do consider rating our submission!

I haven't actually seen a game with this idea, and on playing this I'm surprised since it fits so well! Really fun gameplay loop that keeps me coming back, just missing some music and sfx to help add to the impact of the heavier fish. Super fun game!

Submitted

solid game overall. Controls are great.

I would have liked some kind of choice to make. It seems like the game plays in a very straight forward way. Some music would also be great, either to encourage a certain rhythm or simply to have a fuller ambiance.

Nice graphics, and I liked how the score is represented by the final fish's weight. I think it could've had more variation on visual fish size in the beginning, like starting out with a tiny fish of only 8x8 pixels or something so that the later fish really seem huge. Overall, it's nicely presented!

Developer

That was the plan, just didn't have the time to do all fish sprites i wanted. Glad I was on the right path though. Thanks for playing!

A very good game! Very charming and straightforward but so addicting, just one more bigger fish...

Very charming game and fun to play for a while. Refreshing to see a pico8 entry.

Developer

Glad to see Pico 8 getting some love in the comments. Maybe I don't need to learn Godot after all lol

Submitted

I mean yeah celeste started out as a pico8 game.

Submitted

Fun little game, great to see a pico 8 entry as well. Great presentation and mechanics for catching the fish.

Great game! Very enjoyable, I wish there were more sounds

Who doesn't like a fishing game! Congrats on the submission :)

Cool gameplay with enjoyable user experience, for sure. Love the aesthetics and fun concept. Weighing the fish adds the element to the scale theme. Very simple and repeatable game. Great job on this submission! :)

Got to 1638 !

Really cool aesthetics and fun gameplay idea !

Would have loved a bit of background music to help me find the courage to fish deeper !!

But other than that loved, well done :)

Developer(+1)

Agreed! Music isnt my forte, maybe I'll need a teammate next year!

I got to 1468! I wish there was more of a visual difference between smaller and larger fish, and I wish the dots under the arrows were a bit bigger and maybe a different color from the ocean bubbles? But overall, this is very fun and addicting. Great game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I agree the UI needs some adjustments, probably should haven't redone it all with only a few hours left!

I love the art style! Fun fishing game! This has something that so many fishing mini-games forget: weighing the fish at the end of the day! Overall, this is a great game. Well done!

Developer

Thanks, the scales at the end were my favourite thing to implement, glad you enjoyed it!

A really addictive entry! There is indeed always a bigger fish. Loved the play on the theme and the repetition is so good. As someone who seeks out fishing minigames I thoroughly enjoyed this! My only wish was if there had been more of a visual indicator that the fish was indeed bigger, like a different sprite.

this is so nostalgic and elegant in the best way 🥹 made me remember my childhood

Developer

You caught a 1000kg fish as a child?! Impressive! Thanks for playing

Submitted

So simple but so catchy ! You legit understand everything so fast, it's very cool !

Submitted

Really like art and presentation of course. The gameplay felt stale, but it can work great as part of a bigger experience.

Submitted

Loved the final score window, pretty addicting game, my only complaint is that you could make the current needed arrow a little more visible. Great entry!

Submitted

Really fun and very creative interpretation of the theme! The scoring at the end using the scale is brilliant. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you appreciate the scales. I won't admit just how long it took me to work out the math for the needle to rotate the correct way!

Submitted

My game had to deal with rotation too! Had to brush up on my trig! haha
