Love the simple art style. I mechanic is basic but is still a lot of fun. One thing i'd suggest is maybe having the colour for the bad food be a bit brighter red. It was kinda hard to tell which was which when the game got going faster. Fun game tho, good work
Thank you, I'll keep it in mind for the next one.
Nice!
love this game idea and art so much, wish for more content to play
Thank you so much!
Fun! And cute lil frog :) Music is quite relaxing. The flies got away from me ;~;
Nice simple game loop with soothing music, I kept going for high scores. My high score is 43.
Thanks for playing! Mine is about 35
Gameplay is simple, but fun. The art is nice and simple as well. With some more polish this could be a really fun little game. Good work!
Thanks!
the posionous ones look too much like regular ones.
Sorry about that , but did you like the game so far?
Hi
This game was pretty simple but i ended up caught up in it! It is also very challenging
I saw that it was your first jam, so congrats on that! I think a little more gamefeel could help the game to be very nice. For ex, I'd suggest you to do the following:
- let the music play when you lose, so it doesnt cut abruptly
- add some variations on the sounds ! You can make a random on the pitch of the noise when the froggo is eating something, making it more various easily
Also, the losing condition was not obvious. At first, i thought i was eating something bad, while i just let something go off screen. A little work on that could make the game less frustrating too! Art style and music were nice too :)
Hi, thanks for the feedback, I would care about those things in the following gamejams
This was surprisingly challenging, but I kept coming back for more to get the final evolution.
I enjoyed it and the simplistic art style.
Suggestion: leaderboard to see how you compare to others, but that might be al lot for this jam.
Hey you played my game, thanks , I could have added the leaderboard but since it's my first jam I was running out of time.
yeah I know the feeling, still really good for a first timer.
Its a cute game, but a little too simple and i dont really see how this fits the theme, since my sprite didnt change when i leveled up, overall ok
thanks for the feedback. The way this game fits the theme is that the tiny tadpole gets up to a big adult frog
cute and simple, a bit of polish here and there could help make this game better, so feedback for certain action could help make certain actions feel more impactful, like panning the camera towards the tongue shooting out, or when eating something poisonous theres a delay and the screen shakes. alot of things could be done to further improve this, but either way it was a fun little experience ૮₍˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ₎ა
Thanks it's my first game jam
it didn't actual show what was poisonous, though was pretty easy to guess. Though I'm still not exactly sure why I lost each time got to the frog/fly stage, I wasn't eating anything poisonous...I think. was enjoyable otherwise
Thanks! maybe you lost because you left the flyes fly away of the screen.
There isn't a definition of "poison" which made it hard when I got to the frog phase and the flies changed color. The game is pretty unforgiving. A 3 stock system or health bar could be beneficial here as the unforgiving nature contrasts with the cozy feel.
Good play on the jam theme, loved the music, the art, and the overall composition.
Thanks! if I had more time I could have added all of those things and a victory screen.
