Very creative method of moving! However since the movement direction and distance is so unusual, I think it's really important to give the player as much information as possible about their decision before they make it. Some kind of mini map with the path projected on it would help a ton. I really liked the premise of the game though!
I really like your take on the theme of the jam. The central mechanic being weighing items on a scale is super unique. My only wish is that the player moved faster across longer distances.
