This was a fun crawl! At first I was unsure of how to use the two types of magic, but I came to realize that rather than being about striking elemental weaknesses, it was more about conserving resources to use versus the fast and sturdy enemies. I had a lot of fun!
I played the game through. I find it clever how different spells cause different damage on the various enemies. Nice graphics too. Three levels already feel like a finished whole game. Well done!
The environmental graphics were very good. I'm sure with more time the combat could have been made more interesting. I was unclear if the water/fire were different (it seemed they did the same amount of damage to all the different enemy types).
That was fun for 5 minutes and then it was boring. Pretty cool art, but I didn't see much theme implication. You said Dungeon gets smaller every floor and from narrative perspective it is, but from gameplay point it's getting bigger. And that only thing that scaling, so I didn't see much theme amplification.
Still it is a nice game for 4 days, good effort. Wish you good luck with your future projects!
The art, the music, the little guy. Its really cool!
Good music, and really good art! The music reminds me of ultima underworld for some reason, and I really like the dungeon tiles. But gameplay wise, it felt too easy, and I felt I had no reason to use any other spell. Don't be discouraged tho, these can be fixed with balancing.
Cool game! I kinda figured out how to go to the next floors by accident, but I really liked the mechanic of picking up spells! Maybe I would even have liked being able to hold on to 5 spells per element, but 3 worked quite well.
