How does your game fit the theme?
"Linearity" is a Sokoban-inspired puzzle game where, unlike traditional Sokoban where you perform actions one at a time, you experience the consequences of scaling those actions linearly (e.g., x1, x2, x3, ...). In Sokoban, each action is a singular unit—one move equals one action. However, in "Linearity," each successive turn multiplies your actions, forcing you to think ahead as player movements scale incrementally or find new ways to solve problems.

Really interesting once you wrap your head around it! It could possibly use some clearer tutorialization within the game itself, but that is a post-Jam kind of consideration for something as involved as this.

Great concept for game! It just feels spammable when I got the hang of it.

Developer

Thanks a lot! Yeah It is spammable but that is a consequence of scaling actions rule .

I design  the levels so you can abuse at some point of that.  However, in theory, it is possible to reduce spam by changing the levels or adding things like moving entities or something. But I just decided to cut  all of that  because that would mean understanding more rules and the game is already weird to understand hahaha.  Hope you had fun crushing your keyboard LOL! :)

Could use more tutorials/examples or explanation.  Controls are very confusing, it's true.  I normally like games like this, but the difficulty/tutorial ramp is super important.   So it's hard to rate properly as I have a lot of games to rate and this one seems like it has potential but the learning curve as-is is just a bit steep.  Keep going!

Yeah  you are totally right.  A better tutorial would help alot.  hehe

Either way thanks for playing, I will do better next time :D.

At first, the controls felt weird, but I got the hang of it! I don't know how it fits with the theme tho

Thanks for playing, I cant be more happier! :)

Yeah controls are incredibly weird!

This fits the theme because anything quantifiable can be scaled, meaning anything that can be expressed in numbers can be scaled. In a typical Sokoban game, you perform one action per turn and then stop. However, in "Linearity," actions scale "linearly," following the formula:

Total actions on turn N = 1 actions  x  (N turn - scale number)

So, on the first turn, you perform 1 action, on the second turn, you perform 2 actions, and so on. Additionally, I hypothesize that when selecting actions, players will choose the same action N times in that turn.

Hope this answer your question. Again thanks for playing !
