How does your game fit the theme?
You must build a store "to scale" before your loan repayment scales over you.

Very fun to scale up the store! It took me a bit to figure out I had to click the arrows to expand the store. I do like how you get “squared growth” of the area by expanding the whole length of wall at time – unexpected, but way more fun than linear growth.
It was unclear how much I was spending on auto-restocked supplies, and what actually brings more cats into the store (larger store, more cashiers, fully stocked shelves, not having crap lying around, or combination?)
And some of the restockers were just standing around, not sure if that is a bug or if they are taking their break (they have rights!!).
Overall, this was super fun to play. Would love to see a more fleshed out version with some rollercoaster tycoon-like situations to take care of (cats spilling stuff needing cleanup –> hire cleaners, getting into fights or theft –> hire guards, coupons / advertising). Still, very ambitious as is!
Thank you so much for the detailed review!
I'd say we spent 90-95% of our time creating the simulation. This led to some of our game mechanics not being explained well (or at all).
Auto purchasing was initially a dirty fix for not having a UI to buy things from, and one of our devs got super used to it, so we added it to the purchasing menu. I'm personally still unsure if having it on by default is a good idea, but can't deny that it's a good QOL feature.
Also, THANK YOU on the rollercoaster idea. Our Artist, Nathan, gave us the sprites on Day 2 (for me anyway), and those types of situations came to my mind immediately. Glad I'm not the only one who thought about it, and it's something I'd love to work on in the future!
We're also working on a post jam update! A lot of these little things got fixed, added some explanations to game mechanics and generally polished the game further!
dude i went -164 kitcoins lmao i don't know what's going on ahah it was fun to buy and build shelfs but i was so lost. I really liked the visual tho
Lovely game! I like the combination of cute cats and capitalism. Very relaxing, simple but charming ♥ Even though I was trying to survive on the labor market, I had a great time playing ♥ Good job!
Cute and polished game! I would love the option to fire or destroy something I built. Nice art style and feel to the game!
Very cute game! Relaxing yet stressful at the same time! XD Like others have mentioned, I think a way to see what you currently need for the customers would help but you can definitely work around it. Great entry!
Very cute and nice to play. I loved the game, I always wanted a game where there's just a swarm of clients trying to buy your stuff from a supermarket, and this game is exactly this.
But the game can still be improved by allowing you to destroy buildings, and by having a stress graph to tell you what you need to expand at the moment, for example, if you need to hire more cashiers to expand your store.
The game's charming pixel art style and playful soundtrack create a moewful atmosphere. Cat-filled store is both humorous and engaging.
The core mechanics of building, managing, and expanding the store is well-executed. The balance between resource management and loan repayment creates a challenging experience.

While the controls are generally intuitive, minor adjustments could enhance the gameplay experience, like streamline selecting building/hiring/buying.
Mega Meow-Mart is a well-polished and enjoyable game that offers a unique gameplay. Its charming aesthetic, addictive gameplay, and clever humor make it a another standout entry in the game jam.
This is so cute! I love these sort of management games, and the cat theme was great! The game play was so simple and addicting!
I was a bit confused by the gameplay when I started playing (but that's probably just me). When I got it though, I had a blast! This is very cute and addictive.
Pawsome game! I found it not so challenging, but relaxing, AI is so good they kinda do all the jobs, so you do not have to micromanage, and prices for building are so cheap you can instantly scale if needed. So just sit back and look at catsplosion happening :)
It seems like it could be addicting, I didn't quite catch what I needed to do to get there. But I'd like to give it another try!
It was a bit hard to understand what to do (with all the things to manage simultaneously), but it was still pretty a-meow-zing and fun! Also it pretty nice that we can choose where to build stuff without any limitations besides the kitcoins 👍
Fun game! Feels super frantic but in that fun chaotic way. Really good work!
This was super fun and chaotic! I had the same issue as someone else where I thought the fridge was a door, but once I figured that out my meow-mart was unstoppable. Art is adorable too!
Fun and cute management game. Really liked the art style. One small fix would be to stop placing objects when interacting with the buttons using the mouse.
