Loved it the music fits the game really well.
Absolutely loved it
There are some great small decisions that make this feels really nice to play
This is fun and I an see myself losing a lot of time getting lost in the sauce and playing it. Maybe my eyesight is bad but it was a little difficult to read the smaller faces as I got bigger.
Thank you Kumorikuma. I think as we grow the arena, we'll have the camera zoom in to the vicinity and track the user. This way you can see the creatures around. Then we'll have to figure out how to point out where the next creature of the same kind is - maybe with some arrow without giving it away too much. Thank you for your feedback!!!!
I do like this sort of mechanic :-)
So simple, but refreshing and cute. Well done !
Woohoo thank you Toxicode.
Congratulations on the finished game
The idea sounds interesting
There are 2 factors in the game that make life difficult for the player and it seems to me that only one of them works well now
1) the game constantly makes you look for a new face - this is interesting and makes you actively look for your twin in the crowd
2) due to the fact that the player grows in size, it becomes almost impossible to get to your twin, who constantly hangs out in the company of the same small creatures - the arena is small and you can't get around the crowd from any side, which makes the game very offensive and unfair after 2 successful merges
My suggestions for solving the second problem could be - hard collisions for creatures so that they do not pass through each other and move in predictable bouncing trajectories, so the player can calculate how the situation will look in a couple of seconds
And also make the arena bigger, now there is little space very quickly
Maybe renew all the player's lives after each merge? As a reward
Awesome suggestions Ilya; thank you. By the way your game is AMAZING!
I think you're right, we'll make the arena bigger and I don't see why rigid bodies wouldn't work.
Furthermore we're thinking about adding power-ups or +1 lives for the user to pick up - to extend chances.
Very cute style! It's like a single player .io game. Quite addictive!
It would indeed work well as .io game. It’s a little confusing at first what the exact rules are but one figures it out real quick. Other than needing more juice it’s a solid entry. I wonder if turn-based would work 🤔
Thank you Simeon! Gotta look into that turn-based navigation as you mentioned.
I completely agree with the comment below—this design is truly elegant. Excellent work on this entry! To enhance it further, I’d suggest balancing the gameplay to ensure the player can achieve at least 6-8 merges. I found it a bit challenging at times, but overall, it's a fantastic entry. Well done!
Thank you so much Ernani. We're thinking about shrink-down pills that would appear once in a while to shrink you without losing a live. This way the main character can navigate easier. Thank you for your suggestions. We'll return the favor.
This is actually a really elegant design and I could definitely see this working as a .io title (assuming it isn't one already). Great theming and perfect scope for the jam.
I wish there was a bit more polish and style to it. Movement feels very stiff
edit: also please add WASD controls in future games. Laptop players will thank you
Thank you EmberByte (also a very cool user name).
We didn't realize how important WASD as we're new in this community of game creators. We're also learning about update vs fixedUpdate on Unity to fix the movement :) Thank you so much for your kind words and suggestions.
Super cute, super fun, super addictive. Great game to satisfy your competitive side! Looking forward to more!
Thank you for your encouraging note tubaluba!
Could use a bit more UI polish, but I love the concept and difficulty curve.
Absolutely! Better ground texture, some bumpmap, shadows are some of the stuff we want to include asap. Thank you for playing.
Super cute design with a simple but addictive gameplay! The difficulty scales well with progression. 10/10 will be anxiously hugging the walls like my life depends on it until I beat this game! I would love to see a replay button so I can feed my addiction.
cool idea! like some others said, it's simple yet fun, and there's a nice play of difficulty there with being good making it harder
though I have to agree you do get some periods of downtime where you can't really do much about your situation. perhaps it could be a good idea to randomly switch the player every now and then (with a good telegraph, of course), just so you get a new objective
being your first game, you have something really good on your hands! keep it up
Your feedback is gold for us! Thank you so much. I'll make sure to checkout your game and review as well.
We're thinking we'll write some logic to have other creatures have some bias moving towards the main character without creating unmanageable challenge of course.
Simple yet fun
Thank you Alexkar; your game is amazing by the way.
Damn that was addictive!!! Though it becames a little tedious when your pair is on the other side of the screen and you have to wait so much until you get a clear path. Also I assume it is a bug but the fullscreen doesn't fill the scren (at least with Firefox and Chrome). But overall it is a really interest mechanic that the better you play the bigger you get and it becames more difficult.
Thank you for the feedback; this was our first game. It's so encouraging to hear from our community.
Nice simple game which is easy to understand but surprisingly engaging. I like how it gets more tense as you increase in size and need to squeeze past more gaps. Great art and cute music!
Really well done! :)
We truly appreciate it as this is our first game. It's so encouraging to hear from our community. Thank you.
Great work, thoroughly enjoyed it! 5/5! Please rate mine when you have a chance!
Thank you for playing and your encouraging comment. We'll return the favor :)
