How does your game fit the theme?
It's a tower defense where you build a tiny city fighting off giant viruses. You have a limited area so you need to build up your city and use height and elevation to maximize your damage

This is a really clever game. Since making our game with a neon-synthwave aesthetic, I can't get that vibe out of my head, so this is a nice not-too-different break from my own prison. Great job!

This is fantastic! Please make this for mobile so I can play it all the time!

The visuals are awesome, there's only one music but it does the job, the overall pace is a bit slow but it is supposed to "scale"... Overall it was hard to reach the late game but it also was quite fun!

I would have liked to have sped up the game as parts were slow, but I liked the card pack mechanics!

Submitted

I liked how the game is in 3D which sets it apart from most of the jam games. The mechanics are nice, though it would have been better if the theme was better applied.

I have played this game for a while now. It is very enjoyable.  Every now and then  everything started to flicker and turn black though which prevented me from continuing the run.

Since the game doesn't seem to have an end and since towers can not be removed, the game is very end game focused. The towers I got, weren't the towers I needed. I didn't want to waste precious space. I think a "remove a tower" card would be a great addition as it would allow for more experimentation in the early game.

My plan for the late game was this. It splits the maximum available dps evenly across all lanes. I sadly wasn't able to see it in action because of the flickering issue.

All in all  this game has some very interesting mechanics. I feel like combining it with deck building aspects could be even more interesting since the players will be responsible for the cards they get. I am interested to see if you develop this idea further.

Thanks a lot for the feedback !
It is unfortunate that some players are having the flickering issue as we have not encountered it in any of the playtests. (I wonder if you would still experience it in the executable version of the game ?)

Yes, being able to remove or replace towers would be a great addition as it would allow to try out different setups a bit more.
Deck building as well as it'd add an additional choice challenge aspect to the game and allow for more personal build setups.

That's a pretty nice setup you thought of, I usually tried to max out generators in the middle to get more cards and look for a lot of splitter cards which seem to help a lot.

Also, there is an end to the game (you need to beat the 16th lane), and you can even go infinite mode after that.
Thanks for playing !

very cool 👍

Really engaging, really good looking, really cool spin on tower defense.

I have only good things to say about the core gameplay. Well done!

The UI epic, 3D models epic, enemies and art style epic. Just needed a couple of bits of polish, would love to see changes after the jam! Please highlight the units that a card can be used on :)

My only problem was that you couldn't have towers start rotated. otherwise, wonderous game!

You owned the assignment, a scalable city of defense tower! impressed about the posishing  of the game!

Submitted(+1)

Wow! I'm super impressed with everything here. All the mechanics are super cool, and the strategy is addictive! Music fits great, art fits great, but the game did collapse in on itself once I spawned in a quad splitter. Great game!

Banger of a game! The artstyle, music and gameplay are incredibly polished, so well done on that! Loved playing it for a few rounds, trying to get better. Overall I have no complaints, maybe a very minor one that after selecting a card, it would be great if I could unselect it if I didn't want to place one (in general, I don't mean switching to another card).

I had the same bug as Malic, after unlocking all lanes for two sides, the game starts glitching. The 3D view starts flickering black, until at one point it turns entirely black. The UI stays visible all this time, tho.

Developer

Thank you, we appreciate the feedback!

It sounds like you might be talking about the 'spacebar' button to cancel build.  Maybe calling it Unselect Card would have been clearer.

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing ! The exe version I believe shouldn't have the screen flicker issue in case you want to try again.

Quite punchy tower defense game. Had some kind of bug after a while where the game screen went dark, but until then was certainly enjoying things. Really like the designs in general, particularly the encroaching virus army.

Developer(+1)

Uh oh, thanks for bringing that bug to our attention!  Glad that you enjoyed the rest of the game!

very polished game, the art and music fit eachother so well, really enjoyed it, but it was a little laggy for me

Great art and music. Nice entry!

Looks nice, sadly I don't know why but it was super laggy for me.

Developer

Sorry to hear that.  We worked hard to try and keep the performance stable.  Thanks for letting us know!

I enjoyed the planning required to utilize the expanded towers. Nice work!

Always nice to see that the tower defense genre has made it into the Jam! I really enjoyed the concept of your game, elevating towers over multiple levels is very creative and fits the theme very well. It would be nice to change the position or rotation of a tower after placing it though. Despite that i think you did a great job!

Submitted(+1)

Wow this is a good one.

Theme on point, feels smooth to play, music is spot on aswell.

I love the mix of tower defense and the card packs. Only thing I would've added is a way to control the speed of the game, since usually in tower defense game the beginning is quite slow. Regardless, this is a great submission :)

Developer(+1)

We appreciate that!  And you make a good point, a speed control would be a nice addition.
