silly, passive- aggressive robots. 10/10

WTH this game is sooooo funny !? Like, the scales itself really hate eachother, so they keep pushing and making weird sound, and a bit later it get extremely chaotic! Dude, you've got to make a full game out of this haha

Submitted

Possibly the most unique interpretation I've encountered so far- I will say that while the "jump away" mechanic was a funny and creative way of involving a timer I would be more willing to continue playing if the blocks weren't so dang slippery.

Developer

Yeah, they can definitely get infuriating after a few items are weighed. You can use objects to keep them corralled, the toilet paper, book, and radio are good for that (if you can keep them upright 😅). I would like to have tuned them a little more, and even introduced some settings for how aggressive they are with their jumping for people who wanted them to be a bit less slippery. I also had lots of ideas for mechanics like cages, leashes, treats, blocks that like other blocks and want to be with them, etc. to get them to stay in place... maybe in an 8-day game jam. ;)

Cool idea! As others have mentioned, would be nice to have some more obvious measuring - maybe a scaling arrow which turns to the side of a heavier weight. Little guys are infuriating!!!:D They jump away right as you place them. It was fun, thanks :)

Very nice game, the sound effects are great and although sometimes grabbing stuff gets a bit weird, the gameplay overall is pretty enjoyable.

Very funny and silly game! It would be nice to have a needle to know more precisely what's heavier. But I really like the sound effects and the little faces on the weights :)

Fun idea!

The jump sound made me laugh so hard :D

Fun and simple concept - well done! My only feedback is that it would be nice for the tolerance for the scales being recognised as level to be a bit more lenient in cases where it looks pretty much balanced but isn't. Would love to be able to progress through the items at a slightly faster pace. Well worth a play!

Developer(+1)

Yes, a good point. Especially as the items get heavier, there is sometimes only a few pixels of difference between the scales that can be really hard to see. Had intended to do fine-tuning of the weights of items so it would be more clear, but for some reason when I changed the weight of the book it then created a bug where you couldn't progress past the book. I spent half an hour trying to figure that one out, then had to admit defeat and upload the older version to the jam. 😅

So funny! The detail of different cubes jumping and their sounds give a very funny tone to the game, where you have to track different wight differences and jumping cubes positions over time. Congratulations :)

This is a great game, and the mechanic of the weights just jumping out of the scale is the best. A little indicator to know exactly how much difference there is between each side would be great, just because it seems that it is already equilibrated.

I love thiiiissss! I love how the little ones jump around and even tho I couldn't go further than 3 points it was still fun trying to catch them lolol

Silly is the word. Lovely characters and cute voices! Extra frustrating playing with a touch-pad and not a mouse, but still enjoyable. Hipp!

Developer(+1)

Haha, I'm impressed you played it with a touchpad! I originally had it to also allow play on mobile devices, but playing it on a phone was similarly difficult. Btw, I loved SKILL SCREEN!

Such a silly vibe from this one! I wish this was longer it is so fun!!

Such a cute game :) i tought it would be easy when reading the description... it wasnt but it was fun

STOP RUNNING FROM THE SCALE SILLY CUBES!!

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

Maybe in the next version I introduce a shouting mechanic? I have a feeling they need to be shouted at.

this would be genious

Nice game! Congrats. I like the visual style, I like the block faces changing around and the little yips that they make.

For the first few levels I enjoyed the herding cats aspect of it, but once there were a bunch of blocks jumping around I just stuck them on the right side of the scale to keep them from leaving. I also didn't realize until a few rounds in that you only need to balance the new item, and you don't need to use all the items on screen. That made the game much much easier.

Overall I had fun with it! A nice take on the theme, super cute, and I played until a few forever cubes in, so I was engaged enough to finish the demo! Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words. :)I liked your game too! The little yips were my own recordings, maybe I have a future career in yip sounds.

Maybe!

I'm glad you liked our game! Thanks for the great feedback!

It was a fun little time waster of a game. I figured out a little hack to the game just so you know. If you switch where you weigh things you can basically stop all the little boxes from running away.

Developer

Yes, we are smarter than those boxes! Keep them in their place! 😤

Love the little weights! They're adorable! The fact that they were constantly running away made the game super fun to me. Great job!

Unique take on the topic! This was a fun  game jam to be a part of. Our team went the cosmic route!
