I wish houses were easier to place, cause if you break the line then it’s lost, you won’t ever be able to place a house ever again :( I guess shops are mostly for corners, but what about hospitals? I couldn’t place any :/ It’s just me ranting cause I lacked roads too. However, the game has a really nice and chill feeling, I like the graphics too, just it would be chiller with more road \o/
Anyway, nice game, I had a nice time <3
Really good game ! The pixel art is great and it's satisfying to see the city grow (excellent point to let see the city after we lose)
The music reminds me of The Sims.
(I want more roads !)
I really enjoyed this game and played for quite some time! My only criticism is that the tile placement was drag&drop, which made putting buildings a bit finicky, but it was not a big deal.
Really nice and relaxing game.
I love it. I simple do. Which frustrates me even more that it's so punishing. But you seem to be aware of that. Now I'm unsure if it's a design decision or just a result of the little time to make the game. I believe, given the mood and aesthetic that it's supposed to be a relaxing time, therefor the difficulty should be better balanced.
But aside from that, the originality of the game isn't anything special as it's a city builder, but it's execution, visually, sound wise, and just polish makes it really close to a final product. Your team can be proud, well done!
(PS. GIMME SOME MORE ROADS)
Hello, thank you for your feedback. We're glad that you like our game. To answere your question - yes. It was a design decission to make the game hard. It's hard so that you have a challange, have a reason to play again and try other strattegy and so that winning is a big accomplishement that you can be proud of.
Limited amount of time played a role in making the game so hard but from the beggining we wanted it to be a challange.
Really chill and fun game! Nice job!
This game is really chill and fun! The art reminds me a lot of OpenTTD.
I could spend more time here. Playing it I can feel the spirit of Dorfromantik (I don't know if any connection to it, but good job!) The limitation could somehow be highlighted more for users. Personally I got stuck for a while because I didn't understand why I couldn't place something. But overall, I love the game and I will play it more in the future
I am not a good mayor, I don’t know why I made a straight line. I absolutely love games that are relaxed like this though. Amazing job!
Really nice and relaxing game! Please continue working on it after the jam! It has so much potential. Only thing is, I think it's a little hard. Maybe add difficulty options?
Very nice little game, but I found it easy to get soft locked in a position where I couldn't place any more houses because there weren't enough roads given.
This was such a cozy game, I could spend hours playing it. I loved the pixel art a lot. Had a bug with the road sprite not changing when being placed but its nothing major. Overall, a really good game
This is a super cool idea! Once you know all the restrictions, it's really satisfying to plan ahead and build as big of a city as possible!
Relaxing and difficult. Good!
The art in this is beautiful! I really like that the levels are not independent of each other, so you have to complete a level with future levels in mind.
The sound effects and mechanics make this really satisfying to play, I can see a full game of this being hugely addictive.
This is such an awesome interpretation of the theme! I'm a huge fan of city games so I got a lot of enjoyment out of this - I'd love to play a more expanded version of this!!!! Reminds me of The Sims Carnival's SnapCity game if you've heard of it :)
The game's pretty difficult, which I enjoyed. I found it fun to start again over and over knowing the new things I learnt and the difficulty put enough pressure on me to stay engaged with the game. The one thing I wish the game had was a rotating camera or transparency on some of the tiles, as I found myself accidentally putting buildings at the end of roads sometimes and not realizing my mistakes until it was too late.
Again, I'd love to see this expanded into a full game!
Really cool and cozy game with fun to play idea. Great work!
Really cool game! I wish that the game encouraged placing trees within the city instead of the map being separated in 2 different part: The tree/power pole/radio one and the building part. The game looks great and the music is relaxing!
A puzzle based city builder - charming and relaxing.
Not enough roads and quite easy to lose and need to go again - which is great.
Really enjoyed my time with this - great job
Love the artstyle, even more when you upgrade and advance your city
