This has way too little ratings considering the quality. The concept is really unique, and the presentation with the condescending proctor is well done, love how he even comments on me returning from another tab. Played it all the way through in 5:28.
This is definitely one of my favourite games of the jam. The vision is clear and it was both entertaining (even when I was told "Idiocy, pure idiocy" haha), and very engaging. Not only is it difficult in a good way, while being forgiving, somehow I was on my seat's edge right up until each grade - was it just good enough for a C?! I wondered, in the second round I got A?, B, A? - is it possible to get a true A?
Only thought I had is while I loved the ability to "crawl" on the diorama, it slightly confused my sense of scale at the same time. I wonder if there could be something that requires you to crawl/ more directly rewards doing it, since by the third round I realise I wasn't using it anymore.
I'm so glad the grading had you on the edge of your seat. I spent a fair bit of time specifically on that animation sequence! "A?" is a true A- you scaled it perfectly. The question mark was just supposed to help convey Todd's surprise.
There are a couple of objects Todd asks about that are difficult to see on the diorama without crawling onto it. Maybe we could have leaned into those more? The camera and movement speed changes were indeed meant to confuse your sense of scale. It's part of why I added the "for-scale" banana for players to reference while both on and off the diorama.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment!
Now THIS was fun. Excellent work! Had me talking to myself and the proctor was pretty funny x) "I see you like failing fast. Must be a fan of agile."
One of the games that best fits the theme! I loved the voice acting, reminded me of the stanley parable. Great work for such a short time
The DIORAMA Test has so much soul! I love it! It's so well polished. The first time I paused the game to get up from my computer and Todd had a snarky comment I scoffed how dare he? Lol. I really like this idea as a memorization game too, memorizing the scale is difficult at times and even worse when I stare at it for a minute and forget there's a pumpkin altogether! Great game! I love all the little touches that bring it to life!
Check out my game, Reformless, when you get a chance!
Todd is merciless haha some really cute and clever dialogue in this game. Also the dioramas are all well laid out and presented, it was fun sort of scavenger hunting all the items in them!
Awesome! Narrator has hints of The Stanley Parable.. 'I am the grater and your answers are the cheese', hilarious! Game was a lot of fun to play too. aesthetic also really nice with the colours etc.. plus Todd's animations of him checking how you've done, all in all unique and enjoyed it thoroughly!
Such a relaxing game to play. Although the for-scale banana didn't help whatsoever lol.
Love the idea, it fits the theme perfectly and the narrator is a chef kiss on top. I think the diorama should have fewer objects so it's easier to focus on the scale of the objects rather than the type of object.
