Very interesting game. The premise, and even the reality sounds really quite itneresting but could not really understand what was happenign when I was playing. The thing that this game is lacking is feedback for players actions and communicating what is happening.  Did not mind the programmer art, I think a game can go a very long way even without fancy art as long as it is cleverly implemented :) But anyways great job on getting the submission in!

I has a good premise, I like the idea that "Overproducing food makes farms derelict.", is a good way of preventing people to abuse a mechanic!
We also made a tiled base game but with domino pieces

Interesting idea, but I was not sure how what I built would impact the scales. Is it the population ? The number of buildings ?

Good Pixel Art pictures for first try, good luck and don't give up!

Interesting interpretation of the theme (nice challenge with your friend!).

Very chess like game play, less interesting to me, but I like the distinction in the type of experience.

Presentation (art/music) could be improved. A few animations, a simple beat in the background. can go a long way.

I felt like I traveled back to the past haha, and I see that as a good thing!

Despite being a backend dev, you did a really good job making this idea a reality.  Well done!

An interesting take on the theme! Managing the balance of two cities is something I haven’t seen before. However, the mechanics felt weird and obscure: I couldn’t figure out how much food is produced or consumed, why certain farm fields die out even if the city is starving, why I can only place buildings in certain spots, what exactly makes new “action cards” appear, etc. I think this has great potential if the player is given enough info about what’s going on!

Anyways, congrats on your submission! I’d be happy if you tried my game as well: https://lisyarus.itch.io/color-fractory

I landed here from your friend's game.

The mechanics are a bit obscure and the graphics, well... but, surprisingly, I quite enjoyed it, good job,!

Interesting take on the theme. Definitely a "programmer's game", if you look past the visuals, the mechanics are good and tough. I couldn't get over the 30 population mark.

You should team up with an artist, it would greatly improve the quality of your submission ;)

This is an interesting concept for a game. I think it has a lot of potential if 'scaled' (hehe) up. Well done!

This is a super interesting idea for a game, and it fits the theme perfectly. A bit rough around the edges but this is a fantastic job!
