Does upgrading actually do anything? I seem to keep my gold and none of the things I bought appear in the world.

It's a nice idea, but unfortunately seems a bit unfinished.

yeah there are a few bugs in this games version. I have a fixed version which I'll upload tomorrow. This was my first game jam.

Items you buy should have spawned in the bottom left corner of the map.

oh okay. So can I go and pick them up? Place them wherever I want or something?

Edit: no I can't, as you point out on the game page. Sorry, turns out I'm blind. XD

Now that the competition period is over, I have uploaded a playable version. It still has bugs, but at least it is playable. Thank you so much for checking out my game!

ah nice, I just tried it again and is it me or is the game a lot harder now? I die in the second round every time, before even my first purchase arrived. And I can't just buy some health potion either, because I generally don't have enough money after the first round.

Okay, I managed to survive a little longer by taking my house and turning it into a much better defense around my chest. Now it's starting to last a while and be fun, though there are still some hidden mechanics (like how exactly do the third enemies attack? How do the towers work? can they shoot over walls (and if not, why not? would make building a proper defensive base a lot more fun. :D )

Edit: Oh yeah, the camera is super jittery and that's really annoying. I think it's because it's sticking to the pixels? I think it would feel a lot better with a smooth camera, even if that means there are half-pixels on the border of the screen.

Thanks for trying my game!

If the third enemy doesn't work, it's probably cause I haven't tested it properly. (I usually test just 1 or 2 waves. I didn't realise it was broken)

Towers/turrets should be shooting the enemies that get close to them. I don't think it's meant to shoot through walls. (If it would be more fun for it to go through walls, i'll change it)

Concerning the camera, I'm still experimenting with the resolution and stuff. I'll try to fix the jittering. (it doesn't jitter much on mine..  i think the browser resolution has something to do with it)

I'm going to add more traps as well.

I still have a lot to add before it becomes the game that I have in mind. I'll add a devlog with the things I want to add.

It is a fun little game and a fun experience. The idea is great but it is unfortunate there isn't a tutorial so it is hard to understand.

Developer

Thank you. I'll fix all that before i update it after the jam ends.

MacOS can't run the game, this is not a build for it :(

Thanks for letting me know. I was panicking and just selected a few yesterday. It doesn't matter anyway cause it doesn't work.
