Would have liked to have a separate button for the slowdown effect

Developer

I will try this out if I update the game. Thanks for the feedback!

Brilliant idea, nice art style, awesome audio effects and music. Though the game is super difficult. (Maybe after the jam you can add more tutorial levels)
Anyway, good job!

Developer(+1)

Absolutely. If we continue developing this, the tutorial is top priority up there with polishing the controls. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

I like the idea and the design.

But it feels clunky to control, maybe you should have but slow motion on a separate button instead - 'Space' for an example.

It's fun once you get the grip of the controls, but you should make the gun easier to control and put the difficulty in level design.

Respects to you for making the music and the art.

Developer(+1)

Fair enough. Thanks for the feedback. The music and art were done by my team mates. I’m glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Really unique and exciting! Loved it!

Submitted(+1)

Kinda like bottle flipping except a gun instead of the bottle and you're the gun! Very unique controls and fun movement!

Submitted(+1)

Controls were hard to get used to, but I feel like once you master them the game could be super fun. Lots of potential here!

I love the idea. The controls are very challenging and feel clunky at times. I'm sure I'd get better with practice, but the learning curve is definitely steep here. It's kind of hard to hit enemies (but satisfying when you do); the hitboxes could be a bit more generous (or the gun could have juuuust a touch of aim assist). The concept though is great. I love the slowdown effect, it really helps and also looks super cool. The game as a whole has a really nice look to it. It feels a bit like a tech demo for a fuller game, and has a lot of potential. I can just imagine it with slightly easier controls, different types of guns (which both shoot and move differently), more stages and enemy types. It could be super sick as a roguelike for instance. Hope you keep working on this one more after the jam!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words :) Despite the difficulty, it sounds to me like you got the core idea that we were trying to put forward. I will definitely try to incorporate your suggestions if I continue working on the game.

This is so hard to control but had fun anyways. Once you figure out the controls and get used to it, it's actually a really cool game. Replayed level 1 quite a couple times before managing to clear it. I love this still. Such infinite potential for this one. I hope you keep on developing this

Developer

I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for playing!

NiceGame!

It’s quite hard to get used to the controls. I got stuck a couple of times during the first few minutes of the gameplay. The concept could be good, but my guess is that it would be better to make the first couple of levels much more easy. Like with a static target and less obstacles to go through (a flat first level could serve as a tutorial for the player).

But since it’s a 2-day jam game, the lack of tutorial is understandable. My game doesn’t have it too. :]

I like the idea and the art-style. Playing with a touchpad is very difficulty, so the game kinda requires mouse controls.

Developer

I totally agree. If I had the time, I would’ve made a tutorial to ease into the controls. Also, you can shoot and hop with S/W, mouse clicks are not the only way. In fact, my preferred way of playing is only using WASD.

Submitted(+1)

This was such an interesting concept, but very difficult to get the hang of, I just found it a little bit unforgiving for the timing window you have to fire and kill an enemy, but I do really appreciate the targeting reticle letting you know when it's possible!

Developer(+1)

True. The enemy hitboxes could’ve been larger. We didn’t have enough time during the jam to play test :(

Submitted(+1)

Understandable, neither did we x)

Submitted(+1)

I really enjoyed the game style. Moving was a bit confusing but I got used to. Overall an enjoyable experience. Great work

Developer

I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing.

This game is very hard!

It took a long time to get used to the movement, I think my issue was that I got too much inertia with a first shot and I couldn't correct it with a second.

I was stuck on wave 3 because I didn't see any new ennemies spawn, but I really enjoyed it.
It might have been better if the ennemies were bigger though.

Nice game!

Developer

Thanks! I think the wave spawner is a bit broken since I threw it in during the last hour. I agree, the inertia can throw you off a bit, but if you made it to Wave 3, you’ve clearly gotten the hang of it! Thanks for playing :)

It's very hard to control, but it's kinda fun anyways. The slowmo mechanic is kinda weird to use too, sometimes after you slowmo doesn't let you do it again instantly so reaiming is very difficult; maybe it's the intended way.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

The slowmo has a 0.2 sec cool down to force the player not to just perpetually remain in slowmo. I think if you get used to how long the cooldown lasts, re-aiming is fairly doable. I will admit though that I ran out of time to tweak these values to make it feel better.

Submitted(+1)

I see. Maybe instead of that you could make so the slowmo bar recharges only after you touch the ground

Developer(+1)

Ohh. Now that you mention it, that seems like a much better idea. I’ll try that out after the jam ends. Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

Like the art and slow motion feature. I struggled a bit, but i think that is my lack of skill... A tutorial would have probably been quiet good though. But i unterstand that there was probably not enough time

Developer

Yeah, we only settled on the idea about a quarter way through the jam, so we ran out of time for a tutorial.. If you enjoy the premise of the game though, you should know that once you get the hang of the controls, its very satisfying to make slow motion trick shots. There’s some tips to control in the description as well.

Submitted

Very nice concept and decent execution, the controls don't feel like I have control, even after I got used to it I still found myself frustrated while trying to maneuver around the map, I think if there's a separate button for slowing down time (Maybe RMB) rather than A and D, would be better I believe.

Even though I didn't feel in control of the gun so much, it was still very fun to play and very challenging, I almost got to wave 3 but I kept bouncing around for the final enemy and ran out of bullets.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try playing around with them after the jam is done to improve it. It just gets really hard to judge the difficulty as a developer since I’ve been playing it throughout development and can get past the initial waves easily now x_x

Submitted(+1)

Fair enough haha

Interesting game concept. A better tutorial would have been helpful. Fun game. And of course its not hard, I just have skill issues.

Developer

If by a better tutorial you mean ANY tutorial at all, you’re absolutely right :P. Will keep that in mind for my next jam. Skill issue on both the player and the dev side lol.

Submitted

Lmao.. I guess the main limiting factor here was the short time frame.  Considering that, this is a very well made game

Submitted(+1)

Looks like we had the same idea (the weapons become the wielders)! Nice art and I love the slow motion gimmick. It would be better if the light was blocked by walls and enemies, though.

Developer

Yes! I had fun playing your game too. But I’m not quite sure I understand which light you’re talking about?

Submitted(+1)

The spot light around the gun.

Developer

Ah ok, gotcha.

Submitted(+1)

a tutorial would help the game alot, because it took me a while to get used to and understand the game, but its pretty fun honestly, just shooting is pretty fun because of how much momentum you can gain, reminds me of the 2017 gmtk game jam theme, and the slow motion is decent, also id recommend making it a bit easier or giving you more shots because its hard to get to wave 3, overall pretty fun when you get used to it and with more time could become alot better id say its around a 6.5, if you continue work on this game than i wish you luck!

Developer(+1)

After going through all the comments, that’s exactly what I got out of it too; the game needs a tutorial to teach the basic tricks to aim and slowly ramp up the difficulty instead of throwing the player into a huge arena out of the blue. If only I had more time :,(. I’m glad you enjoyed it though and I’ll keep this in mind if I continue working on it!

Submitted(+1)

The game is really fun the art is amazing and for some reason I liked the movement even if it was a bit frustrating in a good way. The game is difficult but its really good and the mechanics are well made. In some time you get used to the time mechanic for aiming. Really cool great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks :) Frustrating in a good way is exactly what we were going for, and I’m glad that you got to experience it as intended!
