Very clever idea! Nice deep puzzle vibes resempling Portal. Really liked it. I wish there were sounds. Also designing puzzles in such a way that you don't need to manually restart it once you lost a crucial piece would be very nice. I struggled on lava level for not being able to lay the block horizontally, also by the time i got to the end the blocks melted enough it didn't press the button (I swapped properties as fast as I could). But you gave the ability to skip levels, so it's fine for the jam. Game is incredibly well done for a 48 hours jam!

Thanks for the fantastic feedback. We were working on sound for the game but just could not get it in in time I think our sound guy is working on getting it in for a post jam update. Level 4(the lava level) did need more work the solution I had in mind for that one was that you would turn the concrete ice then melt them a bit and turn them back into concrete but then they would be small enough that you could pick them up as concrete and get across that way but I never communicated to the player that that was possible and made the puzzle possible with other methods along with not having a good aha moment it was more uhh I think this should work along with a whole laundry list of other issues I definitely plan on revisiting that level post jam and make it better.

Enjoyed this a lot! Short but sweet, and the levels felt well-designed apart from the one with platforming in it, which mostly just felt awkward, though the puzzle behind it was neat. It's cool to see such a competent physics puzzler in the jam.

Developer

Thanks for the positive feedback! I definitely agree with you on level 4 It needed more time and thought to work better it was just a rushed meh puzzle just ran out of time =) I do plan on trying to improve that puzzle post jam I feel it would be a really neat puzzle given more time and better level design.

Interesting, I got botw/totk shrine vibes from the puzzles! I had fun playing around with the mechanics and the prototype level was nice bonus. Graphics were cool too!

This is by far one of the best realized mechanics this game jam. I love the idea of swapping material properties to solve portal-esque puzzles! I didn't like the awkward platforming though, so If you were to update this, I'd like to see a better jump, and movement smoothing.

Thanks for the feedback! I totally agree with you the movement could use some refinement especially the jump currently I believe we have a downward force pushing on the player to act as a sort of fake weight so the player weighs something downside being the jump is funky. If we ever update the game I'm sure we will use a better method or refine this one to work better. if I'm not wrong we used to use a fully physics based controller but it felt very fast and did not fit the puzzle game. Then again I am the visuals person I hardly touched the code for the player movement this is just what I'm remembering our coding guy saying lol.  =)

Really cool mechanics and ideas, but the door in the level where you use the ice and concrete to get over the lava didn't open for me so I didn't see if there was anything past that.

Developer

That is the last level of the game other than the dev level and bonus level(There is a level select menu in the main menu). Did you press both buttons at the same time and have both indicators turn green if so that is a interesting glitch that I have not encountered that ill have to look into.

I had both buttons pressed but the indicators didn't turn green

Developer

Humm ok thank you for telling me! ill look into it =)

My initial thought is just you were unlucky and whatever you were using to push the button down was just a slight bit too light and that it just barely did not push the button all the way down or the colliders on the buttons somehow got messed up that one time either way a better indicator for the buttons states would be a good thought like a click when the button activates and visually communicate how far it has to go down to activate Thanks a bunch for the feedback I hadn't thought about scenarios like this if I ever update the buttons Ill make sure to keep this in mind and also make sure the colliders/triggers have no way of messing up. =)
