How does your game fit the theme?
In Little Man Behind The Screen, we reversed the role of the gamer himself; YOU play as the level designer. A game critic is playing your isometric shooter-game, you are INSIDE his computer, and your job is to make sure he enjoys the game he is playing by editing unfinished levels to redesign a more enjoyable experience. In simpler terms, you play a puzzle game

Really great idea, the writing was pretty fun xD! Nice take on the theme, it fits very well.

Voice acting was pretty fun, nice work getting a working story alongside the game release in 48 hours. The core game loop was a neat take on the theme (especially alongside the story), as others have said the box placement could be a little janky but nothing game breaking and understandable given the time constraint's. Good job!

At first I was confused, but the whole idea is really nice. And congrats on the voices :D

Haha the voices cracked me up! It has a lot of potential, it's also visually very pleasing. Well done to the whole team, this made me laugh and enjoy :)

Nice voice acting on this one :) The PC component coming together to get the critic to like the game is great stuff! kind of similar to our game in a sense. I Like it!

Neat puzzle design. Visuals are well done. Controls were a bit off and somethimes glitching out, but definitely playable as far as jam games go. Love the story you came up with!

Good work guys! My only complaint is that half the time I can't place the boxes, otherwise it's really excellent for 48 hours!

I enjoyed the dialogs, great game!

The only thing I noticed was that if you’re not in full screen mode, the loading bar covers half the level.

Great concept, the game is a bit jank in its current state though :)

Developer

Hello,  yes we did what we could considering the goals and time we had, but thank you for your review!

The game could use polish, the idea is interesting though, I could see myself playing an entire game with this premise. Obstacles that get more difficult, tools in the level like fans and magnets to drag enemies around. I like that the PC components all had their own voice. Nice job

Developer

we are glad you enjoyed these aspects of the game, thank you for your review! and yes! the puzzling can be scaled nicely in case we decide to fully polish the game, thanks for the suggestions!

Cool idea! Professional UI (just scales weirdly) and voice acting :)

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it !

As said previously the removal and placing of the block is a bit weird. But I liked the concept and the execution regardless

Developer

Thank you for playing our game!

Great game! The removal and placing of blocks was a bit janky, and I somehow managed to, when skipping loading, make the critic spawn at where I was, but otherwise it was a really cool game, and awesome idea! I loved the story about how the pc could not handle the game.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your rating and feedback <3 you are right, we had too little time to fully debug since the project was a bit ambitious, but I am glad you have enjoyed it!

Submitted(+3)

It's fun to imagine something like that happening in the background of a complex game. I had some issues with the controls, but I enjoyed it and I like the idea.

Developer

Gald you had fun, we rushed the controls becuase we had alot of other stuff to complete, thank you for the review!

Submitted(+3)

Super creative and fun idea, well done! However the controlling aspect would have been much smoother with just dragging blocks around rather than awkwardly having to move the character around to pick them up first. Which was also thematically bit confusing since the character was the same as the actual player. Big props for so much voice acting, rarely see that in jam games.

Developer(+1)

Good Idea, it wouldve costed us less time too XD but we didnt think of that at the spot, but thaanks for then suggestion~

Really good concept and I liked the voice acting and the story... good luck with the jam :)

Developer

Thank you very much!

Nice core concept of the game, the meta humor felt a bit tacked on. The game was a bit buggy and the UI made it hard to place blocks at times but I like the core idea a lot.

Submitted(+3)

the concept was amazing! and it was really funny too. well job guys its wonderful

Developer

Thank you very much for the review!

Really fun concept! I'm not sure how well the mechanics tied in with the narrative cuz in the end I did just feel like a player trying to block the robot from getting shot. However, the story and voice acting was top-notch and was fun to go through even with the glitches.
