This is a great start on a solid concept. The controls were a bit frustrating, particularly for the blocks (though admittedly I was using a trackpad). But overall definitely something worth developing.
I loved it; what else is there to say?
Actually, I have a few more words:
I generally love metroidvanias and platformers so the game fit me very well. My one critique point would be the character: They feels just bad and clumsy to control. I really think a character that feels good to control should always be priority number one - especially in Jump´n´Runs.
Good Job, but a perfect needs to be deserved!
Deserve it.
You can do this.
(Next time.)
Thx for your kind feedback! You're absolutely right. The character doesn't feel all that great (I was actually programming character movement during a 6 hour car drive, with no wifi or access to my other projects, so I kinda had to go with my gut). In the following year I'd like to look more into complex jump and run movement so I can easily and quickly create more advanced controlls.
If you wana chat some more about game dev and stuff, I'd love to. My Discord tag is pkmoritz :)
I am called thestormcrafter on Discord.
Wow! It was cool that you were able to fit so many mechanics into this game in only two days! There were a lot of controls to remember, but introducing them one at a time definitely helped, as I didn't feel super overwhelmed! I didn't actually realize that I had a gun until I pressed the first button, so I think a small tutorial for the gun would be nice! Overall, great work though!
Great game, I like the gravity change ability.
Nicely done, good implementation of the theme and works really well.
Very fun and clever game. I would be very interested to see where this idea could go with more time. One small change, I would suggest is to change the weapon into something else. Except for the big crab you don't necessarily it and it doesn't fit as good with the scientist theme. What about a jab to befriend the crabs/heal yourself instead?
Im glad you enjoyed the game. I actually made the shoot mechanic before designing the character, which is why I just went with a gun. However a jab would probbably actually fit better, thx for your feedback :)
I absolutely loved playing this game
Love the unique abilities and the way it works so well with the mini puzzles. Very fun. This could be a full game
Gravity belt, geant cookie, this is a really good platformer with lot of item. The background and door with key remind me super mario world in cave. Very good job !
enjoyable! I liked the reversal of items!
i really enjoyed the sound design and art. The monsters are really cute. If you have time, check out our game The Soul of the Party.
