I find the art style very cute! I like how animated the art is, I think you think a great job with it! Definitely feels like JRPG style of game and its cool to see that in this game jam. I think adding music and sfx will make the game way much better. Anyways, good submission :D

Nice job! My only real critiques are mostly a lack polish, but thats expected in a jam like this when running solo. I'd suggest dropping the pixel font for the text, especially since youre using high res portraits, readability/accessibility is more important than strict style, but if you can pull off both even better. I'm not sure how you handled the buttons, either using Godots built in nodes or making your own, but Godots theme might seem a little overwhelming but is honestly pretty simple, so you should be able to get clicking on them looking good pretty easily. This is all pretty subjective, in the end design choices like this come down to you, put some more effort into this and you could have something really neat. Good entry!
Ok, this is a very funny idea, I enjoyed this! My only real gripe with the game itself is that the font and some UI was a little difficult to read, but I can look past that due to the short time constraint that these jams have. Anyways, I could see this being developed into one of those games with multiple different endings depending on which routes you take. It will be interesting to be a side character in a main game and slowly develop your relations with other characters as the main character progresses the story.
Oh, the lack of sounds and the static window was also a bit annoying, but it didn't hurt the experience too much. It was a bit too short too. Other than that I think this game just needs a lot more polish, development, and time for it to truly shine. Good work!
That aside, you could even experiment with the idea of literally not being able to have any free will due to being a side character. Maybe some actions are just completely blocked because the main character won't allow it. Finding ways to disobey could be a primary game mechanic and it could turn into a fun little game. Good luck in the jam! :)
i love the humour, and good job on the pixel art too! i wish there were more levels, would love to see you work on this more
I really like this concept! The dialogue was funny and the idea of making you feel bad for doing the right thing is very interesting. This could definitely be made into a bigger project if you added things like a trust meter and maybe different heroes. Great job overall!
I love the story and the idea that you are a party member not a leader. You did this well with him being a bad tactician and you having to sort of not upset him by disobeying orders. I think this could become a great ANTI-RPG that could spoof tropes. Great Job!
Very cute art and a nice story! I was interested in the "knight"s identity, but the story was a bit short (can't blame you), the options are great and make the game less boring, you can add particles to the spells if you'd like (like a fireball coming out of the wizard's hand)! Had a lot of fun playing this cute short game, great job!
i loved that special ending :D it is difficult to be a hero nowadays!
the interaction between characters is lovely, i would be happy to play more and turn into a protagonist one day :) or not a protagonist, who knows! maybe an evil and powerful magician, hahah
a couple of times the game crashed (after "eventually" and pressing the start button), but maybe it is something on my side.
great entry!
I have to say, your game really nailed the inverse theme. Playing as the enemy was a refreshing change, and the gameplay mechanics were cleverly designed. The visuals were stunning as well. Great job!
I'd love to see this turned into a bigger game! The only bad part about the game is the length, honestly.
