this is a very funny concept for sure, I havent seen many (if any) rhythm games in the jam, so this one really catches my eye! Its fun to try and get a high score in such an unconventional way <3

Developer

Thanks for playing, and I'm really glad you enjoyed! Honestly I think we really lucked out with the theme we chose, because pretty much every other idea we had got made by 10 other teams...

Thanks for the positive feedback!

We made a rhythm game last year!

I got 97! This was fun and unique, I had to re-wire my brain to doing the opposite of what I normally would do in these types of games. Good work!

Developer(+1)

Congrats! That's pretty close to our dev high score, so really nice work. So glad you enjoyed!

Absolutely adore this music! very fun and tricky haha

Developer(+1)

Glad you had a good time and enjoyed the challenge! I thought your game was a blast to play, so I really appreciate the compliments.

i was pretty confused on how to play. do you only have to tap the wrong notes, or do the whole thing? i was overall just stuck on spamming all the keys lol.

but the love the art style, you guys did a really did a really great job on that!

Developer

Sorry you were confused- I think we could’ve done a better job communicating that you don’t need to mute the string on beat, you can just hold it as long as it’s muted when the note crosses the line. Updates will be made after the jam of course, and your feedback is appreciated!

I'm not much of a musician, but I did enjoy playing this one and finished the track on the first try. Don't know if it's intended, but new notes kept on coming even after the song/audio ended. Anyway, cool concept!

Developer

Haha yes you found our bug! It only happens when you beat the track on the first try ironically, so consider yourself a winner! Glad you had fun with it :)

Submitted

I literally can't play for more than ten seconds, I suck! I love the concept and I find it very original, good job!

Developer

Glad you gave it a try and enjoyed! We would've loved more time to create a more progressive difficulty scale, maybe with a few different tracks. Thanks for the feedback!

I like the concept, but I wish the execution felt a little more in sync with the music (maybe it was with my browser (Chrome), but it didn't felt like the notes had any relation with the song playing, and at one point the song stopped while more and more notes were coming. Also, I don't know if that's the idea or not, but I realized I could just press a key even before the notes appear and it would score, so I didn't felt the urge to try pressing the notes when they appeared. Althought, I feel that with some tweaks this game can be really fun and could be expanded upon. Nice try and good luck :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the notes! The timing is set to the bpm of the song but we didn’t have enough time to make it line up exactly.

Muting the strings wasn’t intended to be a time sensitive thing but it probably wasn’t clear enough given the similarities to the guitar hero system.
There was a bug that caused the level to play twice as long as intended if you beat it on the first try, so consider yourself a winner!

Really appreciate the detailed suggestions!

That was challenging! the urge to press the button on each note was very hard to resist :D Still is very fun, good job!

Developer

Fight the urge!! Thank you for playing, really glad you enjoyed :)

Oh my god. As though I wasn't already bad enough at rhythm games, now you gotta flip the script on me, too? Yikes! It's pretty cool, neat idea, cool looks. I still hate it xD I'm too old for this! But I shall vote as though I weren't, no worries :P

Developer

Haha thanks for the support! Our goal was to remind people of the early days of Guitar Hero when mistakes were more common than correct notes!

Submitted

Cool! The concept is nice and the gameplay tutorial is cute.Hope to play a version where rhythm matters more:)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We would’ve loved to have multiple tracks with more deliberate note placement.

Submitted

As a musician, I can only approve the concept ! Needs a little bit polish for sure, that's normal after 2 days, but the idea is there and well executed ! Would love a complete game like this

Developer(+1)

Thank you! It was our first jam so we definitely had a lot to learn in time management but very glad you liked it!

Submitted

Great job! It took me longer than I want to admit to realize the notes were color coordinated (and I'm not even colorblind lol) but once I figured it out I actually outplayed the song :)

Developer

Nice work! Thanks for playing :)

Submitted

While very hard i love the idea and tutoriel

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! We spent maybe a little too long on the tutorial so I’m glad you at least liked it :)

Submitted

Creative concept, I did struggle a bit trying to understand the way to play since it was not explicitly explained in the how to play part. But after that, it was fun, though a tad too hard for me.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! We definitely would’ve liked to refine the tutorial and/or onboarding process a lot more. Thanks for playing!

Submitted

Really clever idea and professional design, too bad my coordination sucks XD

Developer

Thanks for the compliments- really glad you like it! We would’ve loved to spend more time on a progressive difficulty to ease players into our counterintuitive theme.

Submitted

This is really well done!  Just wish it started with only two strings before building up to four.  Very difficult.  I'm really impressed with how complete it looks and feels.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Difficulty balancing was our biggest challenge. In the future, we hope to save way more time for external playtesting, as I think we mastered our own game too fast and forgot how new players would feel.

Submitted

This is amazing! I really like this, just like osu, but piano and without mouse! Also arts is super mega duper puper ultra cool I just want to buy this piano and place it in my room! Maybe it a bit hard in my opinion, but it still soo cool. Greate work, dudes!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the positive feedback! I am not an artist at all, so I'm really glad you enjoyed the style I went with! Ivory the piano is our new best friend, even if she reminds us of Clippy the paperclip...

The pixelated design is adorable, but the reversed rhythm game design makes it extremely challenging for my small brain to play. Typically, the rhythm action genre provides visual and musical rewards when I hit the correct note. However, this one encourages muting the wrong note instead, which is incredibly difficult. Nevertheless, it's still enjoyable once I grasp the concept. 🎉

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We definitely struggled with the difficulty balancing.

Submitted

Cool idea! As a pianist I thank you :)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed!

I am so bad at rhythm games, but this reversed kind I can do a lot better! Nice idea for a game

Developer

Thanks for playing! Even a bad musician plays the right notes sometimes...
