This is the most hilarious interpretation of the game jam theme I have seen yet. Well done!
The background got me a little confused at the beginning, but that's okay.
Fun game! I like the idea, make sure to always add jump buffering and coyote jumping to really enhance your movement in a platformer. Great job!

Small nitpick as well, it would be cool if there was some buildup to the fireballs coming out so I have time to react when I'm close to the emitter.
