Yeah the first level was definitely too hard. It should be pretty easy to help you feel like you're able to progress enough to keep playing!
I love me some rats <3
I adore how you were able to make such a nice puzzle game for such a short time, My team tried to do that and it wasnt particularly easy, so we made something different. Much respect to you!
Nice job! Cute idea, nice execution. Dont really have any critiques, if you expanded on this post jam I could see other blocks to place and environmental obstacles for you and the scientist to change up the puzzle dynamics.
The game is very fun! I had fun solving the puzzles :D, a lot of variety in every level, the difficulty is perfect I think, and not too repetitive! Nice submission!
I loved the concept and the execution. It's really fun to play and watch the little guy go. I hope the rat gets all the cheese!
Yeah! That was my thought about how you have to direct the scientist towards the cheese. He doesn't care that much about it! He's just bringing it back for the rat lol
Interesting game. I'm not sure how much of this was a "it's just not my thing" and how much of it was a "there's something missing", but I definitely felt like something held it back from being really engaging for me.
I do kind of wish that when the first block was placed, that a ~3 second timer would start for the person to start moving, instead of it being instant, just because a lot of times the very beginning was a rush to place a lot of blocks down.
That all aside, it's a nice entry, with a fun premise and take on the theme!
That's a great idea! It would certainly slow down gameplay and allow you to plan a little better. It would also help set the player's gameplay expectations better (building the maze and planning ahead). A lot of people seemed to default to building around the guy as he's running, which is pretty difficult since he's so fast and it blocks you if you are trying to build in the space he's about to move into.
Thanks for the feedback!
I like this game, fun concept!
Awesome game! Both music and art were well-made, but would've love a retry button in the pause menu or anywhere in the game. But other than that, pretty fun and challenging game!
Nice concept! I really liked the SFX!
interesting game
Amazing game! Was in the stream with you, it was really fun!
Thanks for playing! Really appreciate the feedback.
Nice gameplay, presentation, graphics and very polished!
Really loved this one, well polished, great presentation. I really admire that the game won't let you place a block in such a way where it makes the maze impossible to complete. Great job!
Wow! This game is really enjoyable. Very well polished, great music, great gameplay and unique idea. I enjoyed it a lot! Great work.
I loved this game! Very enjoyable, sublime presentation and the reversed roles theme fits perfectly! Serious potential here imo, I hope some feedback helps it (sorry if it’s too long whoops).
On the maybe tweak this side, I really wanted a quick retry method! I also thought score was a bit tight, although maybe it’s intentionally hard. And lastly the scientist was just a tad too fast for me (even though I am experimented with puzzles).
On the other hand, the please keep this things side, the scientist being fast is actually good imo because it keeps the game interesting and adds a somewhat unorthodox challenge for a puzzle game. I also love cheese as a mechanic, and the concept of baiting the scientist to the cheese just feels perfect. And lastly, the rat giving tips was very clever! I can’t recall now if that’s after some retries or straight up at the start, I think the first is best.
Also I think in a future version there could be some simple intro explaining the context. All in all, great game :)
Thank you for playing the game and for the thoughtful review!
Amazing game, cool graphics! Now I finally understand how pathfinding works :)
That's... a surprising benefit to the game that I didn't think about!
Great work! Solid gameplay and great code implementation!
Thank you!
Really clever mechanics and fun gameplay! I loved every puzzle I came across and found it very satisfying when I finally would figure one out. Art and music were also fantastic. Overall, solid game great job! :)
Thanks for playing and rating! As a D&D nerd, I'm definitely gonna have to try your game out.
This is a great game. Reminds me of Quoridor (board game), but timed rather than turn-based. Everything was very intuitive, fluid, and polished, and the algorithm for the scientist was perfectly executed. Well done!
Thank you! Your game was one of my favorites so that means a lot!
This is fantastic! Easily the most fun I've had with a game this jam. So cool and clever a mechanic that uses the theme in the silliest way. Great job!
Thank you!!! That means so much that you enjoyed it!
