We kinda made the same game: Reverse Tower Defense with Goblin attackers. There were multiple others, so I made a collection.
I think this is the first 3D one I've played. It's a cool take on the concept. The controls are a bit wonky and some more feedback (when new goblins can be spawned, HP of the towers, etc.) would be appreciated.
I like the ragdoll physics of the fallen goblins!
Cool game and great effort!
Yeah we got really ambitious with this and didn't have time to add a few essential things. Still very glad a lot of people are having fun with it! I love the fact that several designers went with the same idea but got vastly different games, thank you for putting them all (most?) together!
Great version of the reversed tower defense idea. Being among the action was far more exciting than a more removed view of things. The ragdolling of your soldiers was hilarious; that was an excellent choice. I was a bit put off by how fast the player character moves and found my goblin hard to control. It's a shame that the icons don't do anything; it might have been a good idea to remove them from this build of the game. I did find myself excited to see what they would have done while playing. Keep at it! :)
The game was a bit janky, and sometimes the goblins wouldn't spawn properly and blow up immediately. Overall though, the idea of leading your own goblin warband is a fun idea and made for an interesting proof of concept. Good job!!!
Thank you for playing! (Excuse the mess) we thought it was a good proof of concept ourselves and are looking to expand on this is much as possible. That said loved your game and wouldn't mind seeing it expanded on as well!
I see. Thank you for clarifying, would you kindly remove this and your previous posts and provide an actual review for our game? It'd be much appreciated.
That was in fact my real review. Sadly, my perception of the game was bad because of the person in my background. My friend played the game and said it was alright. Apologies once again.
FAQ by Tavian:
How do you win?
- Bring Goblins to the towers to bring them down, bring all of the towers down to win! (Goblins may circle around the tower before attacking).
Why is there no sound?
- It's not you, We didn't have time to add any :/
What do the icons do?
- Nothing sadly they were meant to give demands to your Goblin Army but due to time constraints a follow the leader approach was implemented.
Note: The game is a bit jank but 100% playable, winnable, and fun! We're proud of what we made and tune in after the Jam ends to see the updates we add!
Stop this please
Odd considering the game has no sound at all since we didn't have time to add any, might wanna get that checked...
sound doesn't work for me either.
Some goblins just die from one hit, others follow me to castle.... and nothing happens, they just run around following me.
Buttons of fist, fire and heart do seemingly nothing, just squashing icons on click.
What is the win condition, if any?
Just made a FAQ comment to answer all questions, and yeah we got a bit ambitious and had to change how they worked. (We plan on updating this game after the Jam officially ends) also there is no sound we didn't have time to add any :/
Fun idea, execution needed more work. Good effort all the same.
Thank you very much for playing, yeah we agree with the execution but the game works and is fun can't ask more of a game made in 48 Hours. We will have an update for the game some time after the Jam is officially over.
Sound isn't working for me for some reason. I'm not sure if it's something on my end though, because audio from other things works fine.
Interesting idea, but could've been executed better.
Just made a FAQ comment to answer all questions, and we totally agree on the execution being better but for a game made 48 hours this is what we got and we're proud of it. (We plan on updating this game after the Jam officially ends) We didn't have time to add sound or music to the game so it's not your end.
The goblins are made of spaghetti!!!!
Yee! Thank you for playing!
