cool game

A little curious why the left and right have a delay before direction change. Funny music. Hitboxes seem to not match the object. Clean design though. Could be satisfying score attack game with a bit of polish.

Very light and fun! I especially like the sfx and music. Good job!

Oh my god I was not ready for the music xD

Also you shouldn't have made the chickens so cute if you wanted me to squish them! But admittedly, running over a whole group of them at a time was very satisfying. The controls did feel a bit strange, though - up/down controls were super, super responsive, whereas left/right felt like they were fighting me. The hit boxes were also sometimes a bit unexpected - I'd miss a chicken that was right in front of me, but one that wasn't particularly near the side of the car would turn into a pancake. I think the potholes would also sometimes be unexpectedly counted as a collision despite not seeming like I'd actually hit it, though it's hard to tell since that's a game over xD

Why are all the chickens trying to cross the road, anyway? If they kidnapped my family surely they're also smart enough to not run in front of my death machine?? One of life's great mysteries, I suppose!

Edit: After writing this review I went back and played some more just for the music. That menu music is honestly incredible and it's a bit disturbing how well the game music goes with the chickens' death squawks.

This definitely feels like it should be on mobile. It has an addicting quality!

Pretty funny idea, I especially loved the music, LOL. Nice work!

Love the idea and the design is awesome! Only little criticism: I was able to drive outside of the screen, which is kinda weird.

The main menu music is a bop btw.

Thanks for the feeback!

A neat game with fun humour! The UI and visuals can definitley be improved but it was a fun game! Definitley enjoyed it when the difficulty started to ramp up.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'll look into changing the UI post jam!

The lil chickens are so cuuute!

Developer

Thanks! We are pondering a mobile release, so be on the lookout!

I kinda feel bad for riding over those chi... oh wait no they kidnapped my family. They deserve to die

Developer

I completely agree. Glad you liked it!

This game was fun, and I love the concept. I think with a bit more polish this game would be complete. Good work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We're thinking about polishing it up quite a bit and releasing it on mobile as an experiment.

the music goes so well with the game, i love it!

The game didn't work for me ((

I played it in a browser.

I tried opening the full screen - it didn't do anything. I tried clicking the screen after the "play" button, the screen went brighter and everything froze (except the music)

Developer

Weird, I've not seen that happen to anyone else. Maybe try closing and reopening? I don't know, I've never had that problem

Submitted

I'll try running it from the same browser on Monday on Ubuntu and tell you how it went

We did have very similar games, great work! I think the only feedback I have is the UI can be a bit hard to read as it's the same blue on blue. The art style was awesome!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'll look into changing it!

Ahahah those chickens got a sick beat, man.

Thank for playing! I really did enjoy your game.

I really loved the undertale-esque menu music and how the chicken screams complement the background music, almost like vocals to a beautiful, twisted song. Amazing job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks, I was actually really inspired by Undertale for the music.

Simple, but well executed. The sound effects and music in this game are really enjoyable to listen to. My only complaint is that moving the car left and right felt unresponsive, but other than that, good job!

Developer

Hey there, don't forget to vote on this game! I'm happy you enjoyed the game and I'll continue work on the controls. We may be planning a release for mobile so keep your eyes out!

The chickens are brilliant! I loved their run animation it was so birdlike but also bouncy and cute. The audio was perfect too 😊🥚

Developer(+1)

Hey there, don't forget to rate this game! I'm happy you liked the bird animations. We spent a lot of time animating, breaking our animation in unity, fixing the animation, realizing I didn't set settings right on the pixels, fixing the pixels. I have learned a lot :)
