Really cool game! It comes of as a finished product. That is something really hard for me to achieve in a short game jam. The puzzles/levels were also not too hard or too easy but were moderately difficult. I don't usually play puzzle games but I even cleared the bonus level in about 5 tries. Well done!

How does your game fit the theme?
The player's role is reversed: in games, the player's role is usually to win, but in this game you need to lose (by destroying yourself) to clear a level. You also play as a monster instead of a human.

Nice game! Cool backstory too about Jiji trying to redeem himself. I'm not a huge puzzle person, but was able to get through this fairly easily, even including the bonus level!
One minor thing is it might be nice if Jiji pointed which way he would shoot. Some of the levels I just had to instantly press go just to see what direction the magic goes in so I could proceed planning. Also not really important... but I kinda wish Jiji had some kind of cool death animation when dying!
Overall though quite an excellent puzzle game with good theme. Well done here!!
The puzzles in this we're really enjoyable to complete, they weren't daunting, but I still had to think about it. My only complaint is that you can't tell where Jiji is going to shoot before you actually shoot, an indicator for that would be nice, but other than that, good job!
This game works! it got this nice Chrono Trigger/ Minish Cap vibe music I really like too. The puzzles were not always so straightforward which isn't easy to design by any means. Great stuff and a good addition to the jam. I won't say I'm a bit fan of moving the deflectors "after" you're casted the spell though, it adds an element of chaos that ...defeats the puzzle sense in my opinion, but overall, great stuff.
Creative game, I finished all levels and the bonus!
I liked how the game eased in the mechanic of the game 1 level at a time rather than everything at once it makes for a great user experience!
The puzzles were fun and I liked how there were multiple ways of solving the puzzle!
In most puzzles I did have to cast magic to see the direction before attempting to solve it so perhaps an indicator for the direction would be good but it just save one extra click haha
Overall I enjoyed playing good job!
Nice! Finished all the levels + bonus. The puzzles were well thought through, and none of the solutions leaned on mechanics I didn't know already. The music was really good, and I had fun playing. Great game!
That's a very interesting conclusion this "monster" came to. Ha! But I had a lot of fun solving the puzzles. Definitely made me stop and think several times. Good work!
really nice puzzles and idea! only problem is you can't see which direction jiji will fire.
oh also, i can stack the left-turn things on top of each other, which is how i cheesed the bonus level

I really love the presentation and the puzzles! I only really needed to use needing to move the mirrors post-fire in the bonus level which led to me being stumped for the longest time. It's as good as it gets for 48 hours, and the only gripe I really have is that Jiji should really have an indicator for the direction he's going to fire his magic in.
Thank you very much! I agree that an indicator could be good to have. Also, many puzzles can be solved easily by just moving the mirrors, after firing which probably should be fixed, but it can also be seen as a way to skip a level or encourage finding another solution. Anyway, I have added your game to my playlist.
That was really fun, I like the way of implementing the theme, because it isn't a game that already exists but with reversed roles, but something completely new.
The mechanics are easy to understand and the gameplay is very enjoyable.
The soundtrack is fitting and the sound effects are also punchy.
This definetly has the potential to become something bigger one day.
The game feels super nice to play and the levels are super interesting. Just a nice game in general. Keep it up!
This is great! Love the Baba is you artstyle! Love the lore, love the theme!
One thing i will say is that most levels can be solved trivially by moving around one or two silver stars to rotate the fireball. I feel like the design of the puzzles would really shine if you couldn't move the silver objects once the ball was in motion, or if they were limited to areas or tracks.
Either way, great game!
You can check out the game I made art for <3 (please comment! :p)
I think this concept of trying to defeat yourself worked well compared to other submissions with similar concepts. I would add indicators for which direction you will cast your magic, and which way the deflectors will deflect.
