i just realized, its kinda similar to super meat boy
Hi Dev!
hi dud
I loved that you kept Peach's floating mechanic; very on brand for her. Great intro, great music. I was having some trouble with the wall jumps, but I'll blame myself for that. :-) Well done!
How would you find a double jump as expansion to her toolbelt? (That would mean, that the float would be bound to a different key.)
I will certainly expand the game after the end of the jam.
I think the idea for wall jumps is fine. I think it's probably just a question of tweaking the controls a bit.
And I don't know a thing about music. It's the one thing I'm never able to make myself. :-)
Also: Are you good at music?
(Feedback on the music would be appreciated. I can send you pdfs/musescore-files, when you want.)
Nice work! Didn't expect to see scratch on a Jam. My kids made some really tiny project on school with scratch. I'll tell them to keep practicing after playing this!
Great level design. Some jumps have really tight window of oportunity, but never unfair.
Congratulations!
Did you practice for this time or is this one of your first attempts?
It was my first attempt. Only fall once in one of the last platforms, but managed to fly to the left and catch up from a few screens back.
First at speedrunning or first in general?
First in general. First time playing (I'm 43 and been playing since 6yo platform games)
The game is challenging and it's well designed. I love the wall jump and the flying mechanics.
Would you say your time is representative for the avarage first completion time?
If the player has previous experience on platforms, probably yes, it is. If the player is not an expert, it would take more time, maybe double. They may fall on some big jumps and had to retry some parts 1 or 2 times. That's my guess
Would you say. the game was too short?
It's kind of short... but, for a 48hs jam it pretty descent (I've played shorter games on one-week-Brackey's GameJams).
Of course if you have more time, you can expand the current level or even add more levels. But for a Jam it's just fine.
I would really like if there would be a scratch-jam. But I don‘t know of any and certainly have not enough reach to host my own one.
Nice to see a scratcher entering the jam can u rate mine https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2023/rate/2161577

This game surprised me by how much I liked it. The level design looks really simple but is very well thought out. Character controls really well. It kept me interested.
If you are interested, I will likly continue to develope the game.
princess of persia)
Some jumps are leaps of faith but otherwise it was Great!
Your feedback has been appreciated.
Did you manage to defeat the boss?
Anyways: Thank you for playing.
Yes I was able to beet the boss.
How did you find it?
once your at the end you have to glide for a few screens.
I meant: How did you like it?
And also: Did you think it was clear what you had to do in order to reach the fight?
Was the glide too long?
I thought the glide was too long but I did like the boss fight. Great Job!
Thank you for the feedback. I might continue developing the game, if you are interested.
Have a nice time!
The gameplay of the main character is quite well-made, although it often feels like the required jumps from platform to platform could be a bit more lenient.
Thank you for playing!
Though what exactly do you mean with more lenient?
Is this a subjective or an objective problem?
Anyways: Thank you for the feedback.
Sorry I wasn't very clear. I meant I often felt that my jumps were only possible by a hair, giving very little room for error.
That didn't make the game harder but it changed the feeling I had while playing, so you could say it's a subjective problem. On the flip slide it also means that I think the way you placed the platforms was really precise and well-thought.
Did you manage to defeat a very non descript turtle? When yes: How did you liked the fight (I know it is highly inspired)?
Yes, I managed to get to the end!
The final fight was a nice change of pace from the platforming, while not outstanding, but that's the way the inspiration is. It's a good recreation though. Knowing that the player character couldn't jump very high makes it more obvious that you have to jump under the boss, which is a good thing in my opinion because it makes the goal more clear.
I first experimented with a lower bowser which could be jumped over, but it didn’t feel good when bowser was smaller than you.
The game is nicely executed and the character animations are cool. However I got stuck in a top left corner after introducing floating in mid air. Otherwise it's fun
A position of bring stuck can be fixed always with a reload. In this specific case a jump should also unstuck you.
Thanks for playing and the feedback.
Have fun!
Very fun! The controlls feel great and the presentation is very nice. Some sound effects would have been good. Overall I think this was really well made though.
Did you manage to reach the boss?
When yes: How did you find the fight (I know it is heavely inspired)?
Thanks for the feedback!
yeah I did reach and defeat the boss. The fight was also really well made and I always find it awesome when people have time to add things like boss fights in a 48-hour jam, even if it’s just a recreation of a very popular boss fight.
(I actually also wanted a Boss Fight in my game but didn’t have enough time to make one)
Would you think it is a good idea expanding your game after the jam (when uploading files is available again)?
I have ideas.
No, sorry. I am currently working on other projects and usually don’t edit my game jam games.
I think I phrased that wrong. It was meant more generaly.
oh sorry, I get it now. You could if you’d like to. There will probably be less people playing your updated game, then your game jam game right now. But that shouldn’t stop you if you’d like to keep working on the game.
Ok. I certainly will do so.
This game was very fun to actually play, the character controls well and the platforming permits a few mistakes.
My biggest issue is with the jumps to other screens, which are a little janky since you don't know where you'll land, but they weren't too hard so it's okay.
I liked it!
Your feedback has been appreciated.
Did you manage to defeat the boss?
Anyways: Thank you for playing.
I did, thankfully there's a checkpoint before the boss, otherwise I would have lost lol.
Came from playtesting.
