I was laughing out loud at the character and story. I love seeing games just be weird because they can be. The swapping mechanic could lead to some crazy stuff, functionally and aethtestically. Really fun exerpience!

Developer

Thanks! I think a game jam is the perfect opportunity to go wild. We had so many more ideas with where swapping could go- I think it's a really limitless mechanic! In any case, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Yo!!! This was really well made! Puzzles were at the sweet spot for difficulty for me, the story was simple but sweet, and the rules were internally consistent. One thing, maybe add an indicator to what the pressure plates and buttons do? I got stuck on lvl 2 for a while bc I didn't know the button also opened up a bridge, but I figured it out eventually. The different combinations and contextual controls reminded me a lot of Mario Odyssey, but adding the ability to mix and match captures in cool and unique ways that added to the puzzle elements. Really loved this game!

(Sidenote: Thanks for putting that mac thing in the description! We ran into the same issue but didn't know it was specific to mac so we didn't upload the web build for the jam... but now once the jam is over I can upload a web build that works on windows at least!)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback and glad you had fun! Indicators for what buttons/pressure plates interact with is a great idea, thanks!

Yeah, we luckily had one mac and a couple Windows PC's so we were able to test it out a bit better. I hope the browser support for Godot 4 improves soon!

Good idea! Keep it up!

This is incredible! Such a awesome take on the theme, crazy how you managed to get these animations in and the swapping mechanics to work so well! Great job!!! :D

Great work! This is a really good puzzle game, I can't believe it was made in only 48 hours.

Please, if any of you are playing on mac do yourself a favor and download the dmg as its stated in the description. It's well worth the extra minute.

My favorite submission so far. Unique mechanic, well designed levels (the last one is a gem, I felt so smart with the ghost placement), and very charming assets.

Congratulations to you all, give my regards to Hank.

Developer

Wow, thank you so much for the kind words! Appreciate you taking the effort to download the Mac version, we know it is a bit annoying.

We will sure to pass this on to Hank as well!

Very good mechanic, and the key descriptions were right on point to show the player what to do (not too obvious, not too vague)

Developer

Thanks! Glad the key descriptions were helpful!

This was well worth my time

The puzzles mechanics were unique to me, had great buildup, and the art + music was on point with the vibe. Also, the puzzles were just the right enough difficulty to make a good challenge but not overly frustrating.

Incredible job!

Amazing game" I had a great time with the puzzles! And the message was wholesome as well. :) Id suggest making the frog jumping faster at the start and the end, so it wouldnt feel so floaty. Using some sort of a tween could help that I guess? Im the artist of our team haha, so Im guessing that tween would work for that. Anyways, I had a great time! Great work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, somehow the frog was both the first thing we built and the thing that feels the worst haha. Glad you enjoyed it!

This is a very serious game and hank is very handsome. Really cool "exchanging limbs" mechanic.

Developer

Correct. If you laugh at the game, you might make Hank cry and we can't have that.

Submitted

I'm already starting to feel more handsome. Best game I've played yet.

Also pretty sure I just jank'd my way through the ghost level, not sure what intended solution was.

Developer

Yeah, the ghost level is a little janky! We are working on redesigning it to be a better introduction for ghosts abilities. Thank you for playing!

Hank Handsome (OC, do not steal) is a serious game for serious people.

Awesome idea, laughed out lout at the limb exchange! Very fun.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! Honestly, if we manage to make people laugh even half as hard as we did, I count that as an enormous win.
