It would be nice if the game would pause for two seconds after selecting an upgrade to give you time to prepare for continuing, and after a while all other enemies would act the same as a slow projectile that follows you, but I had fun playing the game. I liked how you actually upgrade your enemy instead of yourself, and I liked all the effects.

The art and music assets are nicely consistent, and there's a nice juiciness to the effects. Well done!

This is great! Love the aesthetic and how fun it is to play, definitely nailed the jam!

This was really fun!!  Great use of the theme and the polish and graphics and music were all excellent!  Awesome job on this!! :D

All around a great project, and I love the idea of a leaderboard. The balance of risk/reward is also awesome to see. The only thing I'd love to see if a version that starts off faster. On new runs it's a bit slow to start

I loved this project! The aesthetics were great and I loved the push and pull of wanting to upgrade the turret to deal with enemies better while being more lethal to myself.

Really love the polish on this one.  You kept the premise and presentation simple, but it let you focus on other things and the theming is great.  I loved the older windows look.  I really liked that the upgrades also help you tailor your difficulty curve.  I went bigger and more projectiles, and once I took bouncing off walls it got insane.  Loved that the music ramps up too.  Great job!

I really like the graphics and the upgrade system!

Top marks, well done. Firing on all cylinders here. Its pretty rare for me to look at a game and say "Damn, this deserves a showcase".

Impressive performance too. Presumably using Godot 4.x. I was seeing some frame drops with even trivial scenes. Curious how you got the perf good :)

Developer(+2)

Nice to see a fellow Godot developer. Thanks for the kind words, we hope so too.

Yes, we are using Godot 4.1. We love the new features, but we're also waiting for many of the issues to be fixed. We didn't do anything special for performance, and have noticed the performance drop, especially in the late game.

The concept is incredibly unique, and the design of the turret as both an enemy and ally is truly fantastic. I love it

A big thanks from the art team for the appreciation on the game's art! It was a very new concept for us to dive into and we're glad it is well received by players! I especially had fun designing the turrets and enemies from our daily life machineries, wonder if you can spot them out ahaha! Once again, thank you for playing out game!

Managed to get 169! I love how upgrading the gun is both a benefit by killing enemies better but also a threat because it gets harder and harder to doge the projectiles. Really awesome game!

This was really enjoyable and I love the retro art style.

Good game, maybe at the start is kinda slow but it turns pretty fun after that.
The leaderboard in a jam game is a pretty good idea too.

Developer

Thank you for your time on our game and your feedback! Through our previous work we learned that having a leaderboard is really a good way to light up the fire in the players' heart, so we decided to throw it in this game! hahaha

The art was spectacular! The retro theme worked really well and the little polish like chromatic aberration and screen shake made it feel satisfying and enjoyable to play. The concept was good, too - the turret shooting at you was a very unique concept and was very fun to play :)
