Really good game, im really bad at it but still lol.

I was always lousy playing the hunter in duck hunt, but it turns out I'm lousy playing as the bird too xD The AI was a wizard who was very good at predicting where I was going to fly next, which became extra scary when I managed to survive long enough to encounter the special shots!

Love the art, and the fact that you can pick difficulty levels, and the music was nice too. I do somewhat wish it was easier to restart, but the system in place wasn't too annoying. Overall, the game was nicely polished and I had a lot of fun, even though I kept getting shot!

Submitted

Hey, that's a really cool game! I love the pixel art and the minute details that you were able to cram in like difficulty levels and settings. I also think the way the hunter aims at the bird is really well-coded and adds a lot of interesting depth to the game. Great stuff!

Submitted

Damn that's a hard game! The secret technique is to not know yourself where you are going. By giving random input you fool the hunter and most certainly breaks the rules of physics and stuff. But who care it's a game! It's very cool that you did the graphics. The music is fine and the difficulty is maybe a bit too much for easy mode but that's what makes the game challenging.

Solid submission!

The reticle is deceptively hard to dodge! It does a good job guessing the bird's movements, and the added patterns later on add a nice wrinkle to the gameplay. If you were to build this further, I wonder if there is some way the bird could affect the farmer--maybe it could throw the apples back at him?

Really noice game with great visuals and simple but fun gameplay, managed to get 23 on hard mode.

Good job

Thanks a lot for the kind words.

Nice little game, with beautiful art. After a few tries I got to 7 apples on med and then tried hard, after a few tries got to 4. Mechanics were lacking since it’s just shots appearing quickly, wish there was more variety like potentially moving shots, etc.

Submitted

Very tough. Good job on the hunter, his shots felt challenging and unpredictable but not too unfair. I managed to get 4 apples after lots of tries. Sometimes the apples appear and fall way too quickly, otherwise really enjoyed it.

Got this game on behalf of the Review Swap from the Post Jam Productions Server!!

Reverse Duck Hunt... Nice! It was hard on the easy setting, but I did enjoy the arcade like elements.  But One idea that could improve this quickly is if you include a face of the hunter on screen showing how irradiated he is getting when he misses, or gets close.

Submitted

wow it's really quite challenging. The sound design and art is spot on

Reversed Duck Hunt! Fun and challenging gameplay with clear and stylish pixel art. Love it!

Nice PixelArt Game and a nice take on a the classic Moorhuhn game.

Developer

I have no clue what you mean by "Moorhuhn game", but thanks either way!

Love the pixel art, nice idea to add more attack patterns, that made this game a really fun one to play. I think the controls could have been made a bit more interesting than just the standard flying, but that might escape the scope of 48 hours. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I originally had the idea of having multiple playable characters that you automatically switch between kind of like the attack patterns, but that would've probably been too hard to implement alone in 48 hours considering there was already so much time crunch.

Submitted

Nice art! Wish the apples were a bit more dynamic and you had more time to get them, often there wasn't enough time to reach them.

Developer

Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback.

I really liked this one! its a really fun high score game and I love the predictive parts of the shooter, really kept me on my toes. plus all the art is absolutely incredible.

Developer

Thank you very much!

Submitted

This is actually really fun! lots of potential for endless fun, and the placement of the shots seems pretty damn good at predicting where I want to go hahaha.

I had a weird bug at first where my controls weren't doing anything, but a refresh fixed it.

Developer

Thanks! The bug most likely had more to do with Unity rather than the game itself, but I could be wrong. I'm glad it was easily fixed though!

Very funny to see this twist on the classic duck hunt formula. I was surprised at the difficulty of this game though. Even easy mode can be quite challenging. The addition of the apple gives a neat risk/reward in the gameplay loop! Fun stuff!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The "prediction" of the player movement was added to combat boring playing (flying in circles), but adding the apples kind of removed that type of playing anyway, since you can't fly in circles while collecting apples. This means I probably could've just removed or adjusted the prediction to make the game more accessible, but since I didn't get enough playtesting and opinions in, I didn't realize to do so.

core concept is great! duck hunt but youre the duck :) very nice and challanging

Developer

Thanks!

I love this game, but man did it frustrate me, but in the best way! Love the art, crazy polished, spot on gameplay giving you those Duck Hunt vibes too. I didn't think this game would be too tough, I mean how hard can it be to dodge the crosshair, but man was I wrong!

This had me swearing and belly laughing at my screen in equal measure. A really excellent game!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the kind words! I'm glad at least some people are able to enjoy the (probably too) high difficulty.

Submitted

Difficulty isn't too high at all, it's just right. I played on Medium and then after laughing too much at my performance there, tried Hard and was suitably shot down.

Submitted

I really liked this submission. The art for this is crazy well done and the decision making for where to place the shots is really good. Although I was only able to get a score of around 11 on medium before I would die, there is a possibility that the shooter might be too good. Great submission though!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the kind words! The game requires pretty fast reactions, which sadly makes it pretty inaccessible to some if not most people. It's meant to be challenging, but since I can't get proper playtesting in such a short time, I tend to make games way too hard haha. I hope though that most people will be able to grasp the patterns (because even though it feels like the hunter is just predicting the player, it is just a very simple pattern in reality) and mechanics of the game after a few plays.
