Great game!
Much like the game it's based on, at the core it's a simple concept, but it really addicting to play.

While I 100% agree that the existing movement should be the core game, I think that it would be really nice to have a "casual play" mode, where mouse control could be used (or some kind of cheat code), as I'd love to just kinda hang out and play this like that lol

hmm great idea, and maybe i can still make it look arcade-ish... ooh! i have a great idea! but you gotta wait till the voting's over lol

Absolutely gorgeous art and animation! The arcade-style really works. The gameplay was fun, but crazy hard (in a good way, like the original flappy bird).  Super cool game!

Great take on flappy bird. The difficulty of moving things reminds me of QWOP. Feels like with practice you could get quite good at it

This game absolutely oozes character! From the retro arcade background (with moving joystick and button) to the jaunty tune, and of course the cute bird’s bouncing hat.

Super clever take on role-reversing flappy bird, and it just felt really good to play. The grinding effect when you moved the pylons was just one example of the level of polish you managed to put on this game. Well done!

Developer

pylons are the cone ontop of birb head, those are pipes XD

Oh lol you’re totally right, of course those are pipes lmao. I will leave my post unedited rather than attempt to hide my shame xD

Looks super polished! Gameplay is also responsive and satisfying.

I would eat this game up if it had either touch screen or mouse controls! Keyboard controls were a little awkward and slow but I still had a ton of fun and it looks super polished!

Submitted

Fun game. I would make it possible to move the pipes with the mouse though.

Don’t know how you done it so fast, but gameplay is really interesting and feels very engaging. Sound is also nice and feels good with game overall

Funny, I had the exact same idea during brainstorming! :D But I eventually went on a different direction.

Really cool presentation! The idea to put the game inside an arcade cabinet is neat. And the art style is really sweet (although hard to read on level 4 and 5).

The controls are the main issue I had with the game. They make everything really difficult. The cursor slow, the pipes have a heavy inertia (they take time to start moving, but don't stop immediately), the cursor is dragged left when moving… Most of the time I struggled because I stumbled onto unlucky patterns asking to do precise movements quickly. I only reached level 5 because I used some exploits (keeping space held guarantee to grab what's coming) and I was lucky with the patterns. I really feel mouse controls would have felt more intuitive (although it wouldn't work with the arcade theme anymore).

I still pursued to see all levels though, because the game is cute and the concept is still kinda fun and rewarding! :) Nice job.

Developer

oh no dont worry, that exploit you did was more like a leeway i left in to make the game a lot easier, its like a coyote jump type of mechanic

I really like the art style for the game and this is definitely one of the more unique executions of the flappy bird reversal.

Super fun, a bit hard in the beginning but once you get into it it's a really fun arcade game!

Nice Game! I love the graphics and the idea, but the controls are a bitunintuitive, I personally would've prefered mouse controls, but still good job!

Submitted

The art is so good, and the most fun take on the reverse flappy bird idea I've played so far!

Submitted

Great job! It's tough but a lot of fun and a super unique take

Submitted

very cool, with some very nice graphics and controls :)

Submitted

Juicy and fun but my main problem is that its hard to control! maybe add mouse controls?

Developer(+1)

If i do that then the Arcade style control scheme would feel useless

fair

Oh, what if you try a click-and-drag joystick?

Submitted

This is awesome. I've played other Flabby Bird clones where you play as the pipe in this jam, but this plays a lot different since you have to drag the pipes out of the way. Love the graphics and the joystick animation. Very well done! A few levels were a bit easy though, I guess the levels are auto generated? Don't think I had to move any pipes at all on level 4.

Submitted

I really love the graphics and overall aesthetic. The dithering in the textures, the animated border, the animated control display, it looks phenomenal! Unfortunately I don't think I understand the controls, I tried grabbing the pipes with space to pull them out of the way, but no matter how much I pull they stay where they are and my bird crashes :(

LMAO ANOTHER ONE LEGEND

They just made a page ready for the game...
What's so wrong about that?
