I tried twice and im catching the mechanics and how to make great scores, was a really good game
Such a great submission. The artstyle is so good and the implementation of the idea is perfect. I really like that you reversed the positions of the paddle and the bricks, it really highlights the theme of the jam. Awesome work.
I had seen this one appear in the official discord of the jam in the progress pictures channel and couldn't wait to try it out! The artstyle is striking and very pleasing, and the concept takes a classic genre and gives it a simple yet nice twist! As many other games during jams, I think what it needs the most is the difficulty being balanced, but otherwise this is an impressive entry. I'd easily see it reach the top 100!
Thanks for feedback! Can you tell more your thoughts about balance issue?
Hmm, perhaps it was just me being very bad at the game, but I struggled to make any meaningful scores, and the game ended quite fast. I also wondered if being able to see the pieces we'll get in the future like tetris would be a good addition or not.
Oh I also didn't get why sometimes the ball would be thrown once and other times multiple times!
I hope this can help!
Sounds like you didn’t notice text in the left bottom corner :)
I agree, it’s not very noticeable and we have some problems with UI, had not much time for that. But the more ball rolling the more bricks you get. If it got back to paddle too fast, you won’t get bricks at all and end up with getting back to “place yourself” phase instantly
Oh alright I'll have to check it back then!
Wooow. The concept is great! The implementation and presentation even more. And then also an online highscore ranking. Amazing job!
Very nice game, well put together !
Good job ! Great art !
This is so well put together! The skill ceiling feels very high, but playing casually is still enjoyable. It makes me reminiscent of the Gameboy days.
Nice take on the game ! It feels very polished, and the gameplay loop is pretty interesting and allows for quite some strats :D
Overall look is amazing - loved the trade offs that had to be made by trying to get as much points as possible but also not wanting to lose, could easily sink hours into this if not careful!
Seriously? This is made in 48 hrs???
This was fantastic and addictive!! The art is awesome as well!!
yeah I know right??
Yeah! So cool!
This is a very interesting concept, and I love that you get to place yourself at the end as one final peg. Great submission!
Great Game! I like the competing goals of the game. On the one hand side you want to keep the ball rolling to give you points. On the other side you don't want the ball to destroy your base.
I'm very happy that you understand the core loop idea, some people just see the polish and don't notice that gameplay is not too shallow!
Cool Twist on Breakout
Amazing gameplay, sound and visuals, this one is extremely polished. Congrats! Super fun game all around.
The aesthetic is awesome! Neat twist on the block breaker, wish there was something I could do in the wait phase though, . Well done :D
This was really fun to play! -Kaylee
