Hey this was fun! Yeah more juice can be added (check the video attached, you must have run out of time like me too tho, just 48h to dev a entire game :D) -> would be a quick 1 hour fix and would improve the experience by 10X. Controls and movement super smooth nicely done! The effects are pretty good too! I like the light edge outer rectangles, maybe add this to all the enemies so they light up (would look even more cool). Followed you, looking forward for an update :)

The idea is one of the best I've seen in this jam! It took me way too long to figure it out, but I did eventually, and it was fun. Deeperbeige said exactly what I think: "it just wasn't satisfying enough. With lots more juice, faster fire rate etc maybe I'd have liked it more." It was pretty solid though, I'd love to play a post-jam improved version of it! 8.5/10
Took me far to long to understand the mechanic. When I finally did, I wasn't really motivated to play for too long as it just wasn't satisfying enough. With lots more juice, faster fire rate etc maybe I'd have liked it more. In my fourth or fifth go, I finally scored 1 point. How disappointing! I eventually managed 20, but didn't feel the need to continue.
Good effort anyway, you can feel satisfied that you've built a working game in 48 hours, which is an achievement in itself!
A smart idea! It takes me a while and watched the video to understand how to play, thanks for providing them! I think the dash/explode using the same key is very smart. It might just be me but I feel it might be easier to control if you can use the right mouse to do the dash and explode so the arrow key can keep the focus on moving. I didn't get a high score sadly but I do love it!
Could use some music, but overall a well made game with a fun twist! Would've loved to have seen some more enemy variety to really mix it up, but of course there's only so much you can do in 48 hours. Nicely done.
Wow, such a solid game, didn't get a super high score like some of the rest of the folks, but I was really into it for the time that I did.
I thought the entirety of the game design and visuals was communicated well, and the gameplay loop was really addicting. You have a really solid base for something here, even as a game jam game, it is wonderful and deserves more love.
Great job!
Would appreciate you checking mine out as well if/when you have a moment :)
Great fun little game! I got around 400 score before getting mauled by the horde
The music would be great addition and also it's not really a reason to shoot if you can just enter the enemy horde and spam space to expode everything. But I really liked it
Really good game, I'd love to have some music but it's okay.
I really liked the way you take control of low life ennemies, it reminds me of the DOOM 2016 "execution" when an ennemy is low life and you can kill it with a cool animation.
UI and vfx are also rly cool !
Damn, this must be one of the funniest game I've played so far. The idea feels original as well, but that comes with an issue. Mostly, the main problem is how to get the player to understand the main rule of the game (the possession). After I've played for a while and got the fact that I can infect the enemies, the game instantly became very entertaining (but before that, the low dmg felt quite tedious). Overall, a really solid entry.
The highlight for me was definitely taking control of the round enemy with the rapid triple shot. In the current form, it feels a little difficult and the enemy takeover doesn't last long enough to be quite as satisfying as I had hoped. The controls felt good though, which is super important for a shooter like this. Well done! Thanks for making this :)
The instructions were unclear at first and the UI is a bit of a mess, I think you need a cutscene in the intro to explain how it works because the gameplay is hard to put into words, but once I figured it out the game was a blast! By far my favorite mechanic in the jam so far. If you polish the UI with some contrast and rule-of-thirds composition, then add in some epic synth music this could be a great little mobile game. There's also a bug in the WebGL version where the player can't move, but it doesn't happen in the windows version, so I don't think that's your fault.
When I first played, I didn't read the tutorial, and thought "How does this fit the theme? It's just a generic space shooter". The second time around, I actually read the tutorial, and was like ":O I get it now! That's so cool!". Really cool game! Good job!
i realy liked the game, it had a cool feel to it and i liked the idea, i just think you should be able to take control of enemys that just died, i just keep dashing into dead enemys
It was extremely fun. Dashing into the bodies of enemies and gaining their abilities. Great idea! The dash effect was very cool too. Good job!
I love me an arcade-y space shooter, and I'd love it even more with some epic battle music to get me into the rhythm :).
I found the game a bit too difficult. I wasn't able to last more than a minute after multiple attempts. The time you're rewarded for capturing an enemy's life-force often didn't feel comparable to the time lost trying to shoot it down enough to capture them in the first place. So maybe that could be a place for tweaking.
Loved the lighting effects with the pixel art, and the enemy explosions felt very satisfying.
Super cool concept, great execution and fun gameplay. I love how the "Parasite" mechanic works. Great job!
super fun game! i got to 200 and eventually just killed myself because i was gonna live forever. love the concept, the only thing I would want is a larger variety in enemies! this would be so sick as a full game with boss fights and more mechanics.
