Cool concept but the implementation makes it a bit hard to play.

1) idea is good

2) i can't get the tutorial, i got stuck on the switches.

3) 0 feedback to player.

Developer

1) Thanks!
2) What would you say the problems here are? Is it too much information/text at once and maybe there should be more tutorials and smaller steps or something else?
3) Is it the UI not highlighting selected stuff or something more?

Thank you for the feedback. :)

This is a really interesting game, and it seems like I can learn a lot just by continuing to play it.  I'll admit though, it is pretty hard for me to get a hang of this -- I'm not sure how to make it easier though.  I'm sure if you have more time, and can iterate a couple times, you will end up perfecting the tutorial.

In any case, this is a really cool concept!

Előttem már leírták hogy mivel tudnád bővíteni, de ezt 48 óra alatt összerakni nem volt kis meló! Grat! ^^

Köszi szépen! :D

This brings me back to networking classes in highschool & college in the best way.

Who knew networking diagrams could produce nostalgia?

I do have two complaints: 1) the UI could be more clear, I spent a lot of time clicking on/off the Wire and Switch buttons trying to activate the desired behavior.

2) The Packet Loss mechanics need to be much more transparent. I couldn't figure out why I was losing so many packets on the later levels, or even where that packet loss was occurring.

I like the unique direction you took making a simulation game within the Joined Together theme.

Also, I could listen to the music on loop for hours. It reminds me of the acapella soundtrack of Crash Twinsanity.

Overall a strong submission, good job! :)

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it.

I had that course last year so my memory quite fresh. This was the first idea after I heard the theme so it must've made an impression on me. xD

1) Yeah, the UI was supposed to highlight the selected tool, but it stopped at some point in development and I had no clue why. :D

2) I wanted to add some more mechanics that would use and explain packet loss more, just didn't have the time.

I love this type of game and had a lot of fun figuring it out, even if the UI made it a bit difficult.

There needs to be more feedback as to what the UI is doing, like highlighting what you have selected, what you can and can't connect, perhaps click and dragging wires and visually laying them out as you do that. There is also no way to restart the simulation if you make a mistake.

I didn't realize colored packets can go to either server, and I didn't have to connect 2 servers of the same color to the same switch. I solved a level with 400 lost packets before I figured that out.

You did have some nice UI features though, I appreciate the routing table on the switches.

This game needs some UI improvements and some clarity in explaining the mechanics and it would be truly great!

Thank you so much! It's great to hear you liked it!
I'll keep working on this game because I really like it during the event and it seems that people enjoy it.

Thematic and challenging. I do wish the rest of the graphics reflected the UI, but still quite impressed with this game

Great work on this game. really orginal

Nice game! I really liked how you implemented the mechanics to fit the theme, and the puzzles work super well in teaching the player the rules gradually. The SFX and graphics were nice -- if the GUI toggled which tool was selected I think that could have been an opportunity to improve the clarity of the game some. Good job!

Very impressive for the time, but only 15% sleep? Don't know how you do it.

Great job on the game!

Great idea! Very original!

Really neat idea and a good take on the theme. I think there is really a lot here to continue with the project for the long term.

Concept was cool and interesting but it was a little hard to connect the things. Would love if you rated my game! https://outercloudstudio.itch.io/beat-link

Oh wow, I really like the concept of this one in particular! Took me a sec to get the hang of it, but the tutorials were a nice touch for that. Good work!

Developer

Thanks! (I posted a pie chart in the screenshots about how I spent my time if you are interested.)

OMG! What a game. This was so fun to play, especially after I just completed a course on Computer Networking. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I also had Networking last year and those memories have burnt into my mind. :D
