This feels unpolished, but I can see this evolving into a really slick parkour game. I agree with the comment below about removing the player's gun - it's pretty much unnecessary because this game clearly wants to be about movement, not about shooting.

I'd focus on how to make moving feel really good. What kinds of sounds can you add to footsteps and jumps to make them feel real? How can you arrange the platforms in interesting ways so that players have to puzzle-solve on the fly like real parkour requires?

As for the things shooting at you, think about placing them in such a way that it encourages your player to do the thing you want them to do. If you want your player to avoid taking a certain path, put a gunman or two there to discourage them and push them in the correct direction!

Lots of flaws, but well done for submitting a game at all! Making something in 48 hours is always going to be challenging, of course.

I am quite aware of the that by now, like flying enemies, no restart when you fall. This is my first game (not me following a tutorial).

It would be great if you can mention some of them:D

You might need a thick skin for some of these... They're all meant constructively though. Try to learn something from each of them so you can avoid them next time. These are all from memory, and I've reviewed several games since yours. Might have some mixed up from other games!

  • Gun repeats every frame, which makes a terrible noise!
  • Gun doesn't have much juicey feel to it
  • You die way too easily from the enemy shots
  • Doesn't reset when you fall off the world (I know you can manually press R, but why not just stick a limit on the Y height or a big collider below the level?)
  • No mouse invert option, makes it really hard to control for old-timers like me
  • Controls aren't shown on-screen
  • It's really slippy! You can fall off ledges way too easily
  • Does it want to be an FPS, or does it want to be about parkour? I woud lean it way into being about jumping and wall running if I was calling it Parkour King, and not even try to do guns. It's a games jam, no time to focus on several mechanics. Just concentrate on getting one unique mechanic nailed. You can always explore that mechanic thoroughly if it's rich enough.

For your first 'real' game, it's really good!

I feel like this loosely fits the theme, but good job! It's weird how when I fall, I don't die and restart the level. Also the ground beneath me never seems to come closer or farther away, which is freaky!

hi, thanks for the review and yes I forgot about the restart when you fall but you can restart the level by R key
