How does your game fit the theme?
All combatants are made of parts joined together, where longer chains are more powerful. Breaking a chain apart creates new enemies, keeping the difficulty dynamic (if the player is very powerful, then the player will create their own boss when they break apart).

Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?

Interesting idea! Great job! I feel like this would be even better if attacking was a bit more precise!

I like the style qnd the mood of the game, the gameplay is cool but could go a little faster.

The idea is very cool. You should implement a tutorial or explanation. Also, the "Laser" is very hard to aim since it is delayed. Maybe you can balance the weapons so that they are equivalent strong. Artstyle is nice.

The chain breaking effect looks really cool, I like the idea

Very cool concept, I haven't seen something like this in a long time. I especially love the movement, it is snappy responsive but fluid at the same time.

Nice game! I didn't survive very long but the expirience was great!

This is a really fun idea for a game, and a little like my own (except better executed :p)

Unfortunately there were also some aspects I found confusing - what determines whether an enemy drops a new segment, versus when they splinter into more enemies? Also shooting being a toggle instead of holding it down feels unintuitive to me, but I think that's just personal preference really.

I also really like this art style!

I really enjoyed the game.

really fun to play!

A really good game, kinda raged a bit and felt like the sniper should get nerf (maybe collide with the obstacles), but overall really well done.

Nice game, well polished. Sometimes difficult to know when you will get hit, maybe a dash ability would make this more forgiving. Really nice to see some variation in the parts that you collect. Great work.

Competitive snake!

the controls are good, I think the enemy bullets need to be a bit slower to make dodging more possible.

and more unique weapons would be cool.

I really enjoyed this one! I love the progression of getting bigger / more powerful while also becoming more and more vulnerable.

Really polished game, I just wish I was better at it 😂

a really cool game

This is a really well polished game for the time frame it was made in, great art and a really cool concept

Loving the visuals! Took me a bit to figure out that you aim towards the mouse, and not in the direction your moving. There's lots of potential here for a great game!

Submitted

like it!

sometimes you cant really dodge when you have gathered some attachments. I wonder if it would play better with mouse only movement & shooting.

visuals and audio are very nice.

Quite good. Physics feels a bit swingy, but other than that I like it a lot. I reviewed yours, make sure you return the favor! https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2021/rate/1081519

Very pretty.

It got probably do with some sound effects to make the shooting a bit more satisfying.

Not entirely sure what the lines are. I assume they are meant to be lazers, but they never seem to do much? Maybe increase the damage on the bullets and the lazer lines a little. it might make the shots feel a little more impactful.

All in all, a decent little game.

PS: Big fan of the little bunny thing in the corner that ocassionally pops up
