Flappy Bird 2: Parenting

or

Angry Birds 3: Nest Egg

Really nice game! I love the art style and general feel of it! It's super satisfying to flap and avoid obstacles, and the animations really take this game to the next level! You have a winner here!

Thank you very much for the feedback - I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I definitely tried to put a lot into the movement and animation, so I'm glad they felt as good as I wanted them too!

You did a fabulous job!

Fun way to implement the chained concept. The jump press & hold needs more rework since when I hold to glide and release the button then bird flies again once.

Developer(+1)

That's intentional, I wanted to experiment with a different way of handling a jump for a bird, especially since you can jump without landing on the ground.

It could have been done better though, and at least explained a little better haha

Thank you very much for playing!

Fun concept, well presented :)

I did wish for a bit more feedback that the egg was reaching terminal (pun intended) velocity- more often than not it’d catch me by surprise!

Submitted(+1)

At first I was annoyed by the fact that there was no real indication whether what I was doing was endangering the egg or not, but after playing for a little bit I grew to appreciate the design choice, it truly made me feel like a caring mother trying her damnedest to protect her babies.

Rage inducing for sure. Impossible to slow yourself down! Art style and music are super cute though.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it, rage aside!

You can slow yourself down - jumping completely resets your vertical velocity and can be done whenever that cooldown bar isn't visible; and you can hold the jump button to slowly glide back to the ground!

I could have done a bit more to explain this in-game, sorry about that haha

Simple concept, simple game mechanic, simple graphics but yet this is the best take i've seen on a linked / physics type! Awesome

Developer

Wow! Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The art is very cute! I really enjoyed it's simplicity, and the cute animations. I'll admit that the broken egg sound scared me the first time. The gameplay is super fun! It's a short and sweet game. There is a few instance where I felt like the eggs should have broke but didn't for some reason.

I hope you continue working on this, it has potential :)

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it, egg mishaps aside!

I do have plans to keep working on it, in fact I'm currently hard at work on a polished and extended post-jam version ^^

The egg-sound scared me because it was so loud! But it's fun and very challenging!

Developer

Sorry about that! I didn't get much time to mix things, so I didn't quite realize how loud it was!

I'm glad you enjoyed nonetheless!

The art and the gameplay are amazing, it is a nice game to pass the time, the mechanics of flying and being careful not to break the eggs are also very interesting :D

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I was definitely trying to experiment with new gameplay and art styles, so I'm glad they turned out so well!

The egg exploding sound is scary loud, haha! Despite that, lovely game.

Developer

Haha, sorry about that! I mixed everything in a bit of a rush, and after everything seemed too quiet I might have made them a little too far on the opposite end of the scales... Oops!

Glad you enjoyed the game regardless!

Really fun gameplay and movement mechanics, and I really like the art. However it seemed a bit random when the eggs decide to break

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

I agree about the egg breaking - it's really inconsistent and it baffles me sometimes too. I'll be working on a more robust system for handling it in a post-jam build.

Looks amazing. You could do more with the Gliding and eggs. Like powerups just for the eggs not the bird. or Just state changers for the egg.

BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.

It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.

Thanks for the great feedback!

Totally agree that more could be done - I had plans for more egg-related puzzles in the levels, such as windy conditions that would blow them around, or even a level where there was no rope and you had to push them. But, as is the case with jams, I just ran out of my free time for the weekend.

I'll give your game a play too!

The combination of the audio with the walking animation is amazing! I could play a whole game just walking this bird around to music.

Developer

That's awesome! Glad I could get something as simple as moving to be that fun haha

Cute game, good graphics, fun gameplay! You check all the boxes! Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it

Very nice game, I love the graphics and the idea - only had some slight issues where I couldn't explain myself how the egg broke, but overall really good job!

Developer

Thank you very much!

Yeah, the egg has been a bit of a nightmare - code wise it just cracks when it hits the wall with too much velocity, but that seems really inconsistent as sometimes it can just break as your sliding it along the floor... I'll look into it though!

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

real cool game and cute artwork, even if there is a little bug where the eggs randomly cracked, i relly enjoyed playing it

Developer

Thanks! The egg cracking has been really weird bug to squash, but I'll keep looking into it.

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I really like this game !!! it's so fun and the mecanics are pretty interesting ^^

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Submitted(+1)

I felt like sometimes egg just randomly cracked, anyways I enjoyed the game very fun take on the theme.

Developer(+1)

Yeah that's definitely a problem - I think going forwards I'm going to need a more robust way of handling the egg cracking, because it's super inconsistent.

I'm glad you enjoyed nonetheless though!

Submitted(+1)

I love the concept and artwork for this game! As jykjammers already pointed out, the egg cracking sound is jarringly loud, which I guess hones the point on not damaging the egg lol. Amazing work!

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback! I'm glad you like the concept and the art, they're definitely the bits I focused on the most.

Yeah I can see the egg sound being a little loud - I didn't catch it at the time, and didn't get much time to work on the mix - sorry about that!

Glad you enjoyed it!

This game idea is pretty quaint and and cute! I really liked it! Only qualm was that the egg cracking sound was so loud that it made me jump XD Overall well done!

Developer

Ah, oh no! Glad the rest of the game was fun despite the loud egg crack haha! I didn't get much time to mix the audio, so it's something I'll look into.

Thank you very much for playing!
