Snake game but in a different theme! I like the idea, however gameplay-wise, it's a bit too hard, I wish the only obstacles are the props. It is a bit illogical that we 'die' when we bump into the shoppers that we've 'collected'. Apart from the Ui, I think giving our main character wearing a firefighter uniform would be a nice touch. Anyways, I like the concept!

First off, love the title! The art is super nice, and I also really liked the music! Also loved the personality of the different things the people said when they joined my squad. Overall, a really great entry! Nice work!

Very interesting take on the theme! It was a little finicky and could benefit from a more visible grid, but overall I enjoyed it. Well done.

Nice take on the classic Snake game! Fits the theme well and it's fun to find all the people scattered in the building!

Really good mechanic for the theme, I really enjoyed the visuals and concept of this one even if it was frustratingly hard or finicky at times hahah

This game could definitely use a bit more polish, but that's pretty normal for a jam game :)

Good job!

Edit: Also the name definitely brought me in on this one hahah

Great game and good take on the theme, congrats!

A lot of times I did not agree with having died in the game, but a lot of fun! Very nice idea to mix snake with that concept, good job!

You know what, I've never played a version of snake where the things you need to pick up are moving, much less running and screaming while trapped in a burning building XD A truly unique take on a classic and quite fitting for the jam. Excellent work!

Pretty fun! The whole game is just charming. I the title, and the little things the npcs say are funny, and the gameplay is pretty engaging. I think the hitboxes should be smaller, because I found myself getting hit by the npcs a lot while trying to get past them. Overall fun game :)

Incredible concept! The title is just pure genius. Didn't manage to save everyone but had lots of fun!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing!

pretty good take on a classic. i think the colliders were a bit borken (i kept dying when i didn't touch anything) but the game was pretty funny and it was quite fun to chain along people

Developer

I re-did the collection system midway through development so some colliders are really lenient while others should probably be tightened up.    I glad you still enjoyed it though!

What a masterpiece.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah, it was a really fun experience! I'd love to see what you can do next.

Developer

We will be making a mobile version some time after the jam.  It'll include all cut content (More hazards, more zones, skills, difficulty, and of course many MANY more puns!)

Hilarious title, and I love how you made it more challenging than snake by having to chase down the other characters.

Developer

Thanks for the feed back!  Theres a lot of stuff that had to get cut (like certain followers giving you skills), but I think it still came out great!

interesting game and a great take on the theme, reminded me lot of snake :o)

I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

I think it’d be cool if the other citizens’ hitbox was larger.

Great art. Best game title in all the jam.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Because you lose if you run into an NPC after they follow you I wanted to keep them kinda tight so they're easier to avoid while making 2 sharp turns in a row :P

Great art and aesthetic.

The concept is such a unique take on an old mechanic, good job.

BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.

It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.

I saw the name and it was an instant click

Submitted(+1)

With a name like that, how can I not play it?

I liked all the NPCs dialogue and the fact that they were much more likely to run into the fire after linking up with me :P

Didn't get very far due to weird and unclear hitboxes.

For snake-like games with grids, I suggest trying to keep the player on that grid a bit better, cheating the movement in their favour.

Developer

I wanted to do grids so things would be more clear, but I didn't want to learn something completely new for the jam, so I stuck with what I was comfortable with.

Simple, everything about the game is in the tile already lmao, fun one!
